Perhaps it was the cold I was coming down with, but when the bartender suggested this, it sounded like a good idea. It was mid way through my stay in London’s Earl’s Court and it went well with the fish and chips. I was pleased that it didn’t have that bitey metallic taste that I’ve had to choke down so many times with regular Stella in the U.S. But alas, when I returned to the my happy home no store had ever heard of it. So it’s just a nice memory at the moment.

Draught, at Hilton Bracknell, UK. Darker blond coloured beer with some medium but steady carbonation and a small but dense white head. Rather heavy barley malty almost buttery hinted aroma. Full light creamy palate. Finish is again rather heavy barley, malts, with a longer sweeter pilsener dry malty ending. Typical UK style lager. Not bad, not good.

Keg - Bedfords Bar, Norwich. Poured a dark, golden orange with a creamy and lasting one-finger, tight white head. Modest mid-fruits, grain and sweet malts with a touch of peppery nip and an otherwise inoffensive, short to medium length hop bite on the back end. Light to medium body, medium carbonation giving ample dryness. Light, easygoing and refreshing enough. Not much in the way of distinguishing this from the standard Stella except with a bit more weight (for a lager, at least) in the mouth. I can’t say I hated it and it was a beer that went down well and swift enough after work - I’d certainly drink it again given no other (viable) alternative.

Keg. I ticked this macro wale @ the O2 Arena, London. Pours a medium amber color with a creamy white head. Certainly not an unattractive pour. The nose is general corny funk with hints of orange peel and burning plastic. The taste is pretty disagreeable. Very corny. Lightly peppery finish. More plastic and bizarre orange extract. Vegetable. Strangely boozy for only being 5%. Quite fizzy. Overall, this is a bit of a fail. I’d choose normal Stella over this. Not that that’s saying much.

Dark golden beer with a strong head. The aroma is lightly bitter and dry, and the flavour is like a standard lager; yeasty and dry. Overall not too bad a beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I don’t understand this beer. It just takes away the champagne-like grassiness of what makes Stella a fairly interesting beer, ups the malt content a bit, and just has a general staleness. Quite astringent really. Has a nice deep, lager-like colour, but that’s all I can say about this beer in a positive sense. Blegh.

Tall draft pour at London hearthrow. Pours darker golden, not what I expected. Tons of bubble, medium white head. Couldn’t get much aroma. Refreshing beer, slightly bitter, tastes a lot like regular Stella

Stella black? Well it's not as bad as stella 4. It's still the same though. Stella black. Tastes like a stella, but not as bad. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear golden color, small white head. Fruity, lime, some sweetened cream taste. Fruity, lime juice, metallic aftertaste. Spritzy mouthfeel, low bitterness. Lime and some compost scent, not nice. Cidery.
