Davros (200), Australia Jun 22, 2009 Tap. Pale amber pour with a small white head.
Bread aroma with some grainy malt. Very faint (lacking). Some light grassy hops.
Plain bready flavour, again with a tiny hint of grassy hops.
Light body. Reasonable. BlackForestCO (819), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Jun 20, 2009 Bottle. Pours a crystal clear pale yellow color topped by an inch thick, rocky white head that slowly settled to a thin head and left some spotty lacing. Aroma of pilsner malt, a light graininess, dough/bread, and some light grassy hops. Smooth, crisp entry with some light maltiness and light hints of dough that transitions into a a light fruitiness (orange) paired with some soft, grassy hops that linger into a lightly bitter finish that reveals faint hints of sweet honey. Soft carbonation and light, prickly mouth feel. Overall, a non-offensive lager that is pretty dang drinkable and seems to avoid that overt skunkiness present in many foreign pale lagers. Not bad. Vertical Bacon Strips (874), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Jun 16, 2009 Stella is great! Always reliable and never on the shelf long enough for the cursed green bottle effect. Poured out the usual large white rocky head the is retained just above beer level. Ample messy lacing, nice bright clear gold colour. The first smell that hits is lemon followed by bready malts, grains and low floral scents. Always has a faint skunk but I’m used to it in this style so no biggie. Taste is always refreshing but never exciting. Grains, slight fruit, middle to end bready malts and average bitterness. Light to light medium bodied. Smoothly carbonated. Goes down smooth and dry with little bit of bitter / dull aftertaste. Probally nearer to average than I rated it but tough titties. BDawg82 (32), Jackson, Mississippi, USA Jun 14, 2009 One of the best on the market. The aroma is pleasant and comes nowhere close to the skunkiness that might be first expected when considering its competitors. The coloration is a light golden, topped off by an adequate yet unobtrusive head and fine carbonation. Possessing one of the most balanced flavors around, this beer is remarkably consistent in first impression and finish, and is amazinlgy and refreshingly balanced between sweet and bitter, with neither malts nor hops overtaking one another in the overall character of the beer. aleksajtov (7), Australia does not count Jun 13, 2009 belguim i love you i plan to visit this brewerey if i can and i tell im never leaving Onslow (174), Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA Jun 12, 2009 Updated: Jul 8, 2009Pour from a 12oz bottle. Golden color with two fingers of white head that slowly dissipates, leaving ample lacing in the glass. Aroma of weak malt dominated by hops. Very well balanced flavor with a fine maltiness at the start and excellent hops smack in the finish.
Sometimes my slack and sleeping senses require the thunder and fireworks of ales, stouts, and craft brews. But the voice of fine brewing speaks gently… and it speaks here.
Barreras (121), Diamond Bar, California, USA Jun 7, 2009 Pours a golden yellow, with okay head. Aroma is of grass and skunkiness. Flavor was very bitter with a skunky aftertaste that turned my taste buds. Overall a very light in taste and quality beer. viet959 (68), , Georgia, USA Jun 7, 2009 Aroma - light grass, skunky. Appearance - Clear golden with a medium head that dissipates quickly. Flavor - grass, skunk, light sweetness, light bitterness. Palate - light body, thin feel, lively. Overall - A nice refreshing beer that is light on taste. Not the best of beers but good for what it is.
