A great session beer, but beyond that nothing else. For a mass produced brew this one impresses. When in a pinch grab some Stellas and you won’t be disappointed. Nice Tasting lager.

A medium bitter beer with a little sourness at the end. Lightly carbinated with a strong but pleasant after taste. It’s a different but likeable beer. Make sure it is poured into it’s special glass or the taste is not as inviting. Pouring into the glass with the perfect amount of head reveals it’s rich aroma and the taste is much better.

Test vom 19.2.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,5,9,10,9,8 - 8,15

THOUGHTS: Big, special, green, holiday bottle with no label, just raised glass. I wasn’t expecting it to be good and I wasn’t disappointed. With no label it allowed way too much light in. Underlying, European, green bottle skunk flavors and stronger in the aroma. It might be good on tap and not skunked, because there were glimmers of a decent beer, but it was hard to get past the skunk. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, very light yellow with nice carbonation and an average large, white head that mostly diminished and left excellent lacing. The aroma had moderate grain, hay and straw; light to moderate herbal, grassy and metallic hops; but mostly skunk. It smelled like an old man bar with stale beer spilled long ago on the floor. The initial flavor was lightly sweet and slightly bitter; while the finish was light to moderately sweet, moderately bitter and lightly sour with a fairly short duration. There was hay, sour malt, straw, metallic hops, skunk, stale beer, old man bar, pennies, cooked corn and sulfur. The light body was watery and then a little dry with soft, nearly flat carbonation and a rather metallic finish.

Bottle. Bale brownish tan color> foamy head that fades away. Taste and smell is crisp and light. Easy drinking and light. Good for a macro brew

Appearance: medium gold with a creamy bright white head that lingers, leaving decent lacing. Aroma: fresh white bread, notes of cut grass, drying hay and saaz pepperyness. Taste: buttery, slightly sweet, with good balancing notes of crisp, lively and peppery hops. Finish: smooth and yet crisp, clean, and surprisingly dry. Notes: I normally don’t care for mass produced pale lagers. However, I find Stella mystifyingly enjoyable. It’s a little fuller-bodied and more flavorful than most beers of this type. It doesn’t set the world on fire, but it’s good in a pinch if selection is limited.

Half litre can, poured into a pint glass. Amber colour, 1 fat finger head. Pour head retention. Faint industrial lager smell. Sweetish slightly grainy taste. Goes down quite well, an ok euro lager.
