BostonFox (25), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Mar 8, 2009 It’s funny how our tastes change. When I was younger, and this beer first came to North America I thought it was great. The light floral hoping was a nice change from the flavorless Canadian lagers I grew up drinking. Later of course, I began having my eyes opened to the greater world of beer and, needless to say, ceased being a fan of Stella. Well, today I had one on tap to freshen my opinion in order to rate and I’m, not surprishingly, still not a fan. It amazes me that so many people here (north america) continue to pay uber-premium prices for this stuff when there’s usually something far better/more local/cheaper just a couple of taps down......marketing is a powerful thing.... Bloekie (149), Belgium Mar 7, 2009 Updated: Mar 12, 2009Looking at the fact that this is the most regularly drunk Pale Lager in Belgium and the rest of the world, I think the quality is pretty good. Looks nice and tastes above-average. Cavie (1317), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Mar 4, 2009 Had a bitter taste to it that I found difficult to attach myself to. Not the greatest. aguyintx66 (78), Humble, Texas, USA Mar 2, 2009 Bottle. Poured a golden yellow with a white head. Has a skunky aroma mixed with malt. It is an ok beer that has a malty taste with a crisp, clean, dry finish. crajun (89), , Texas, USA Mar 2, 2009 No thank you. sour/bitter taste midway through each swallow that means this was the first and last. SalemRam1 (15), Salem, New Jersey, USA Mar 2, 2009 decent beer, the skunky smell added to the expensive cost makes this beer hard to enjoy thoroughly dwaggs2 (531), Lee’s Summit, Missouri, USA Feb 28, 2009 Bottle. Pours a pale yellow color with a white head that diminishes quickly. Aroma is corn, grass and skunk. Flavor is all malts with some hops in the finish. An average beer. Papillon (172), Sudbury, Ontario, Canada Feb 27, 2009 500 mL Can. Pours a clear straw yellow with a 2-finger frothy head that seems to want to cling to the sides, leaving ample lacing. Bready/yeasty aroma dominates over the malt, grains, and hops. The flavor is sweet malt with a bready overtone and a definite yeast bite but ending in a clean finish. The hops are a bit shy here, but overall the medium body is no slouch for flavor. Beer Drinkers: you can’t drink this out of the can or bottle. You have to pour it in that goblet as seen in the picture. B for Belgian, B for Beer -oh what a beautiful 4-letter word ;-)
