This is a good everyday beer, good taste & body, refreshing but not up to the better Belgium beers.

Skunked. Golden clear body with little nucleation and light head that dissipates fast. Clean smooth flavour with minor grain flavour noticeable and a lasting bitterness. Mouthfeel is a bit flat. This is kind of one-dimensional and the green bottles are to be avoided but I would re-try this on tap. Bottle (green).

I tried the version brewed in the United Kingdom and really wanted to hate it as it stands for everything I dislike-a mass produced British version of a European beer. But I was surprised as it has a clean smooth taste with some clear and pleasant flavours.Still by no means a very good lager just a passable one.

UPDATED: NOV 21, 2003 Smelt like Becks, a little bit off. nice clean amber colour but a very thin if not any head. tasted good enough with a nice sharp lingering aftertaste. Not bad but would have to better for me to go back there regulary.

tasted in croatia. smelled skunky. tasted pretty skunky too. I didnt feel i had to get another bottle that was fresh to fully capture the beer's spirit.

UPDATED: OCT 10, 2003 On tap, terrible. Out of the stubby, terrific. One of many beers where the quality from stubby to tap is poles apart.

When I first drank this, i didnt have much to go on. There is a lack of any real aroma and the taste surprised me. It is rich from the barley,a smooth, slightly fruity pilsener than is finished off nicely with some bouncing hops - a good lager. cheers

UPDATED: FEB 15, 2004 So here goes my first rating. Starting with my favourite lager might not be wise, but it might be informative also. The appearance is nothing special, nice golden colour but the head soon vanishes. There is little in the way of smell, but what is is inoffensive. It does have a good body for a lager and although I wouldn't mind more flavour it has a nice bitterness that most lagers lack. Still, one of the best regular lager I know of and a good allrounder. Rerated: this wasn't a very traumatic revisitation. More yellow golden than I remembered and even less head. Left some lacing though. Slight inoffencive aroma. Nice hop profile, but I'd like to see the adjuncts (corn/maize) give way to a little more maltiness. That way this would be really good. As is, still better than most macro lagers, but overpriced.

I'm not too sure what's going on, but lately I've really been enjoying Belgium beers. I used to not care for them much at all. Stella has a wonderful taste that it smooth and suttle on the palate with just a hint of fruitness. A great beer to enjoy with a brat and while watching the Cubs kick a$$.

A crystal clear easy drinking smooth pilsener that is only lacking in a little bit of flavour. Best on a hot day and better than most other european mainstream beers.
