UPDATED: SEP 9, 2012 9-09-12 Re-Rate: Rating for the 2nd time, almost 10 years hence. Bottle. Smell is not offensive. Crystal clear yellow body with thin white head and sparse lace. Virtually no flavor. Has flavor approximating that of a light beer. No Belgian qualities. Rating went up slightly from a decade ago due to aroma. However, still has no redeeming value since the calories and ABV are too high for a beer this flavorless. 12-01-02: First heard of this beer over a year ago during a trip to Toronto. If I had it then, it was not memorable, as it was during this tasting. (BBC-Menlo Park) Moderately malty in aroma. Non-existent head. Good clear, amber color. Better flavor than I remember. Sweet, with some bitterness. Outside of the color, the lack of head, lace and sparkle makes Stella an unattractive beer. Without much to redeem itself in the taste, this ends up a below average brew. 2, 2, 5, 3, 7

Mild, slightly sweet and slightly sour beer. A hint of hops but pretty bland overall. Smooth, drinkable, but not distinctive or bold in any way.

Oooooh: I had a bit too much at the Bank Hotel last night and woke up feeling a little discoloured. This is too sweet for me. If you spill it, you are gonna have a hard time wearing your thongs out to the loo without them sticking to the floor for a few days.

Nice hoppy aroma, with a taste that is nothing new but nothing bad either. Works about as well as any mass-marketed German pils.

Bottle. Golden color with a laced foamy white head. The only nice touch to this beer is the slightly sweet malt flavor in the middle. Otherwise, it is rather bland. Some flowers in the nose.

Re-rating. I had this recently and I was generous with my rating. Bland.
