Stella Artois is basically the superior version of Heineken. While maintaining a similar pale lager simplicity, Stella has a sweeter more complex taste and better body. Definitely superior to the big three American pale lagers in every sense of the word, but still inferior.

golden yellow body with minimal white head taste is of hops and malt with a kick in the aftertaste-not bad though very carbonated Average drinkability. #1 Belgian import lager overall its an average beer but its not worth the high import cost that you pay for it. They may have sold out to the masses and maybe altered the taste over the years, who knows, but this is a solid beer that is consistant and always refreshing. It is a golden lager that has a nice light foamy head. The taste and mouthfeel are simple, no off-putting taste, just a nice sweet lager that can be enjoyed anywhere. Stella is a very drinkable brand and they do a very good job on getting the correct glass to serve it in. I’m not a fan of how they do it, but we have to give them credit for getting people to drink better beer, even in the red states, where they would usually drink BUD.

From a can poured into a Stella Artois glass I use at home. A European Macro, very quaffable, for the masses. Inoffensive Aroma, can smell the alcohol. Appearance is good, pale straw and very clear good head till the last sip. Flavour is acceptable, nothing to write home about, but easy to put back and smooth. One of the better macro’s.

A pale lager in a fancy bottle. Some skunk and corn, and something along the lines of melon rind. A little odd, but it doesn’t hurt the beer. I don’t see myself buying this again; at least not for myself.

Pours clear, golden yellow with a thin white head and very few bubbles moving through. The aroma is of corn-ish pils malt with light grassy hops. The flavor is sweet and like a malt liquor with Sazz hops. Decent for the style, but nothing special. Does however, make macro drinkers think they’re trying a great Belgian beer.

Clean, crisp euro lager. Aroma is subtle noble hop & light clean malt. A nice beer, pretty standard version of the same thing. Nothing between this & every other lager in Australia.
