2.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 RC8 (303) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 6, 2009
UPDATED: NOV 3, 2010 This is what I used as my bar to compare other beers (better than Stella was a decent/good beer. Worse than Stella was a disappointing beer). By all means a standard euro-lager. Good carbonation, thin body, and a touch of sulfur. Prominent steel flavour. Overall it’s refreshing and adequate when there’s nothing else on offer... even if it doesn’t live up to its ’Belgian’ reputation (at least when consumed outside of Belgium). I’ve tried more entertaining lagers since, though.

Bottle. Poured pale yellow with a thick white head. Aroma had notes of sweet malts and some grain and cereal. Flavor was sweet with a somewhat unpleasant metallic taste.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Maddog (348) - Kettering, Ohio, USA - NOV 25, 2009
This is the beer you drink when there is only macro brewed American swill lagers. In the same mold as Pilsener Urquell, just not as tasty. Bready and yeasty in flavor, this rare Belgium lager is soft and mild. I could drink these all day long, but then again, why the hell would I? I guess even in Belgium, there are "men" who are afraid of flavor. Not a bad beer, but not a top notch one either.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Mellonius (69) - Rio de Janeiro, BRAZIL - NOV 23, 2009
Poured from a can into a tulip. Dense and durable white head. Smells really delicate, floral, over a malty base. Easy to drink, very refreshing. A good pale lager, but not different from so many others.
1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20 Gustav1996 (331) - Birmingham, Alabama, USA - NOV 16, 2009
UPDATED: OCT 19, 2010 Poured a clear, pale yellow with a small white head. Mild aroma and taste: watered down malt & hops with a faint bitterness. Overall... it’s a pale lager - not a style I enjoy anymore.
Re-rate: Had this again not too long ago.... not a good beer. This is better than Coors, Bud etc... but so what?
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 haggis03a3 (163) - Piedmont, California, USA - NOV 14, 2009
Yellow with white head. Mild aroma of floral/grassy hops. Decent malt balanced by some bitterness. Solid pale lager. Nothing exciting, but quite drinkable.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 davidm (1246) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - NOV 13, 2009
UPDATED: SEP 4, 2010 Tap. Not bad for a pale lager. Aroma is citrusy, with floral notes. Flavour is bitter, and it has good length. Thin body, and oily in the palate. Yellow colour, with a fizzy head that disappears.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Muggus69 (854) - Newcastle, NSW, AUSTRALIA - NOV 8, 2009
33cL can in France somewhere.
Standard sort of pale Euro lager. Quite clean, bit drier on the finish than most, possibly a bit more body too, but unremarkable on the whole.
