BigBeerHead (42), Reading, Bedfordshire, England Jul 24, 2009 This is awful and I don’t know what they put into it and how much longer they can continue to sell this tripe but simply a rubbish lager which taskes a bit like Kronenbourg 1664. If you have any sense you shall not be drinking ’Wife Beater’ as this gets you off your head and will make you regret stuff you’ve done and the hangover is not much better. ben4321 (949), Rockville, Maryland, USA Jul 22, 2009 Overall Impression: I’ve always thought of this beer as being a little overrated, but not on here, it seems the rest of the RateBeerians agree that it is pretty mediocre. It’s not bad for what it is, and it’s better then most of its competition, like Heineken, so it has that going for it, but overall it’s just a dull but drinkable Pale Lager. BruceLeroy (76), North Dakota, USA Jul 21, 2009 Tastes a lot like Heineken, but a little less skunky and a little drier. Barely perceptable fruit aftertaste which is kind of interesting. I paid $2.25 for a bottle of this, I think it was overpriced. Also bottle is 11.2oz, not 12oz. $6.99 for a six pack would be more in line. Aroma is weak. Also I think it could use a touch more carbonation. Overall a pretty decent lager for a hot summer day. Not too sweet, not too bitter. But I’m disappointed with the price and the bottle should be 12oz! MrRoss (614), Delta, British Columbia, Canada Jul 17, 2009 I don’t see how they (the brewer) can call this Belgium’s best, there are a myriad of better ones from Belgium. It is really only a "nice" average beer, with an adequate head which left some lacing and the slightly hopped and malted aroma - taste was much the same. Colour was a clear yellow gold. An upmarket swill. Good TV adverts, though! Dervock (178), Emu plains, Australia Jul 16, 2009 Poura very pale golden colour. Very light malty aroma and a light malt and hop taste. Nice dry finish. Good session beer. DeanF (285), Paris, France Jul 16, 2009 Slightly more complex lager than usual, nice dryness with taste of hops, grains - good mouthfeel. A better choice for a macrobrew. tmc90 (17), Belgium Jul 14, 2009 Considering that this beer is 20 euro cents per 25cl bottle you can’t expect too much of the flavour and Stella pretty much delivers on those expectations.
However in my opinion it is refreshing and significantly better than many of its other rivals. MmmcKay (269), Brentwood, Tennessee, USA Jul 13, 2009 Transparent with a pale golden yellow color. Smells pasteurized and almost skunky. Crisp and light in flavor. Not as boring as say a Bud Light but not as refreshing either. It does have surprisingly good lacing as other reviewers have pointed out. Probably the worst Belgian beer I’ve ever had. In my opinion, it’s not worth drinking.
