2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
50 cl can from Kaufland, served in a snifter. Dark yellow to golden with medium sized white head that lasts a good while. Aroma is strongly floral, hoppy, malty. Medium body, medium carbonation. Taste is medium sweet, with a low bitterness, slightly unbalanced. Texture is watery to oily.

In the UK, there are 2 types of Stella Artois you can buy. 1.“Real” Stella brewed in Belgium.(You can buy this version from odd off licence). 2.UK replica version sold in major UK supermarkets. 1. This is rather nice and refreshing Belgian lager. Very pale golden colour, sweet, yet hint of hop and dry finish. 2. UK replica version tastes awful, has nasty metallic aftertaste.

Old man let me taste his. Man it was skunky... I think the bottle I tried was rowed in a boat to Canada...

Ok first bone to pick.
It is advertised as ’reassuringly expensive’ yet wholesales to pubs for about 45p.
At least it has a bit more going on in it than bud!
Very strong irony almost sulphery theme running through it.
If I had to drink a mass produced lager it would probably be this one....

UPDATED: OCT 4, 2008 Stella looks like a great beer when poured. The taste is average and comparable to Heineken. There is no real aroma and palate.

I don’t know why this beer is so popular. Belgium has the best beers in the world overall. This is not one of them. It’s basically a Belgian Budweiser, although certainly better than that. It’s a decent beer that’s better for the summer than for the winter. Fans of pilsners will love this one. I’m a stout fan so it’s just not my style. Not a bad beer, but not great either. It’s simply overrated.

Relatively good mass market lager. Nothing to shout about though. Neither surprised nor disappointed.

Bottle. Golden, clear. Sweet and a little hoppy. I’ve had this in a few different bottles and on tap, and the taste definitely varies, but hell, drink up any way.

1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
An off yellow pour with no head. Aroma was as previously stated, a bit skunky. Taste was that of a bad pils with extra carbonation, reminded me of the one time I tasted Bud Ice. In the category of belgium beers it is at the bottom. It seems to be an acceptable replacement to bud, when ordering a bud isnt acceptable.
