2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Foam: thin creamy head.
Colour: pale golden colour.
Aroma: weak malty, grassy and a hints of fruit.
Taste: malts, corn, grains with hoppy finish, a little more than “ordinary” Pale Lager, some peoples complain about this beer, but what they expect from “one of the world’s best-selling beer mass-produced pale lager” .

Pretty bad. Bad skunky smell and flavor. Hard to believe it is popular among anyone.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
The aroma is mostly grassy and bread malt with some skunk. It poured a straw yellow color with lots of carbonation. Flavor is mostly sweet bread, cereal, biscuits or whatever.. followed by a mildly bitter finish. Definitely not a great beer, but I think it deserves a little more credit than the average ratebeer rater gives it.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Can bought in a Brussels street smelling like pee, drank in a warm bath. Clear golden with quite nice big white head. Sweet malts, honey, light herbal bitter finish with slight nasty chemical edge. Light to medium bodied. Nothing surprising here.

I’ve had decent Stella and bad stella on draught good, and good Stella in the old golf top cans and bad Stella in the bottles depends where its brewed but a better choice when the only option is fosters or carling it is a better option than the crap choice in UK high Street pubs

On keg at Nuneaton FC - Didn’t ask for this, but got it nonetheless. Yellow, fizzy, sweet. Didn’t get the urge to hit any women afterwards though.

I guess this is Belgium’s brewing answer for the non-sophisticated beer drinker. A classic Euro Pale Lager. No discernible adjuncts here like with typical meh American standard lagers (Budweiser/Miller/Coors). It is hoppy, malty, and just a bit sweet. Smell is of citrusy hops. It is basically a Heineken with more refined taste and less sulfur tang from the bottle. Plenty of better Belgium offerings (Belgium = Disneyworld of Beer!) out there, but this certainly fits the bill and appeals to the majority of beer drinker’s sensibilities. Good, just not great.

While waiting for a rare 35mm screening of Candyman in Toronto, I walked down King st. and looked for a place to have a few quick beers. 5$ tall boys at The Red Tomato! Not bad. Poured into glass, had a decent size head, a bit bubbly. Pale golden appearance. Good lacing. Good smooth mouthfeel. Well carbonated. Aromas a bit hoppy, wheaty. Flavours are lightly malted, hops, grains, citrus notes. Not too bad for a pre-screener, but will need to try this on tap at some point in the future.
