Stella Artois is one of the world’s best-selling beers and is enjoyed in more than 80 countries. Its full, characteristic flavour and high quality is assured through a superior brewing process and by using the finest ingredients available.
The UK version is brewed, filtered and kegged at Samlesbury. Batches are sent to Magor for pasteurising before being canned or bottled.

pours a light clear yellow with a white head. No distinguishable aroma. Flavor is crisp, refreshing, and not at all unlike a mass produced "beer"

This is like the budweiser of Belgian beers. Nice color. It’s a good beer but not a great beer. It’s an average lager that is dependable and a couple of notches above Miller. Smooth with a little skunk bitterness on taste which is what you get with average lagers.

Smells grainy and vaguely of yeast and...I don’t know, funky somehow. It tastes even less and really isn’t hard to drink, but neither is it a pleasure. It’s a disappointment, not because of the flavour, but because of a lack thereof.

Run of the mill canned shelf tackle, but saying that it’s better than most. The bottom run of the Belgium ladder.

E xtremely skunky odor. Body is extremely watery and light with a skunky aftertaste. Not impressed at all. Similar to a Hieneken or Beck’s, Belgium deserves better.

I wish I had read the reviews before I bought this, now I’m stuck 8 miles away from any store. I think the beer is a little old tasting (which should be normal) after its treck across the big pond. Nothing all that special. It tastes like a European Miller LIte with a dose of import and hint of skunk. I’ll take a fresh Bud over this. Thanks anyway.

Draught. Colour pale yellow and clear, with good head which fades quickly. Slightly carbonated, chemical aroma. Sweet with a forgettable after taste.

This truly fell short of expectations. The varaint flavour in the brew all seem to be doing their own thing without maintaining any sort of balence. Its fine golden appearance can be quite misleading once tasted. Quite a dissapointment.

Wife beater. Nuff said. Same old bog standard bulk brewed lager. Why this has become the British Lager of choice is intresting - the advertising campaign of expesive reasurence tapped into the upwardly aspirational attitueds of working-class drinkers of the late 80’s ant the same time as they shifted from the ’lower-class’, older image bitter to the ’younger’ larger beers. Stella has tried to repossition itself of late as a Belgian ’craft’ beer - the artois Bock brand brewed for the UK market, the new stemed branded glass, and 1950’s style ads - because in a survay Stella charted twice: at No1 as Stella Artois and at No7 as Wife Beater. Here endeth the leason.
