Editor’s note: Formerly known as Stella IPA. Stella was the original name of the Ella hop, the brewery informed me. AB InBev filed suit about that, so the name of the hop was changed to Ella, and this beer to St. Ella.

500ml bottle from brewery. Hazy dark amber with a persisting cream-white head laces nicely. Notes of tangerines, grapefruit, tropical fruits (mango, lychee) and biscuity malts on the nose. Palate is creamy and medium bodied with fruity biscuity flavours before a robust but not overpowering dryish and gently spicy hop bitterness. More like an English rather than American IPA. I’m not complaining.

Slight haze. Thick head rises and falls. Has a lot of caramelly malts on the nose with the ella hop. Light bitterness, meshes well with the caramelly sweetness. Pretty good - kind of a strong bitter rather than IPA but otherwise works.

Pours a copper brown with a distinctive haze. Strong aromas of citrus, grapefruit and other tropical fruits. Consequently, the flavours are sweeter than usual for an IPA. That being said, this is the perfect choice for summer. Slightly overcarbonated, but again this is okay because know warm whether it stays carbonated for longer

Bottle. Copper with a lovely cream head that laces well. Aroma of nectarines, flowers, light spices, hints of tropical fruit. More tropical fruit as well as peach and biscuit sweetness in the taste. Creamy, a little overcarbonated. Firm peppery bitterness. Very English with very Australian hops. Good.

Bottle thanks to Owen. Pours a slightly hazy golden organse with dense off white head. Aroma has a nice floral fruitiness with light sweet caramel to provide balance. Flavours are a little on the sweet side but not overly so. Nice clean hop bitterness to finish. Medium / Thin mouthfeel. Nice one.

Single hop IPA. 500 ML bottle 200 bottle release Dark hazy orange amber color. Nice, thick off white head with good lacing and body. Nose is of tropical fruits with just flashes of caramel. Good nose and just the right amount of malt to offset the hops. Tropical fruits in the taste with a good backing of caramel body. Enough bitterness to carry this. Well balanced beer and perfect carbonation. Best beer from Willie to date and just a really solid IPA that few are going to find.
