2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: SEP 13, 2007 Bottled 0,50L. Limpid yellow color, much pale with a light fizz. Light head of medium persistence. Considerably aroma of cereals, dampen straw and grain. Slightly watery taste, prickly but with an extinguishing and dull bitter.

Kind of skunky, but this is real Egyptian beer! I drank the hell out of this average brew when I was in Cairo, and can’t neccessarily say thjat I enjoyed it, but it was a cool "cultural experience"

1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20
Can. Clear, pale yellow-golden with a small, white head. Weak aroma with grain and bread-notes. Malty and grainy flavor - bad! Watery body. A really bad one. (060929)

1.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Thanks to my friend Lydia for bringing this back from Egypt! Aroma is initially major skunk, this is a typical light-struck pilsner in a green bottle. Once the skunk goes away a bit I get a touch of light honey perfume. Flavor is very light, with a touch of light malt flavor with some light honey notes. Light body, with medium carbonation and a mouthfilling texture.

Pale yellow gold with not much of a head with disappeared almost instantly. Mostly just like another flavourless lager, although it is drinkable. The palate is probably the best thing, with a moderate carbonation level and reasonable depth.

Pilsner (50 cl. flaske).
Kedelig egyptisk øl med megen kulsyre, som dog er god til at slukke tørsten med eller drikke sig fuld i.
Hvis der er andre muligheder at vælge i mellem ville jeg aldrig vælge denne.

I had this beer a few years ago while stationed on the Sanai Peninsula. It was a good change from the American macros. I would recommend that if you find yourself in Sharm el Shek you do not order this beer at the American bar. I ordered five at one time and each was filled to a different level. I was left wondering if these beers were filled in back with a garden hose or worse.

Sipping on a Stella Lager in polluted Cairo while the mosque calls people to prayer through megaphones is an interesting experience, to say the least. Finding a place willing to serve alcohol in a moslem country is tough and Stella, though not all that good, is sufficient reward for your search. Watery and mild, not unlike Meister Lager, just with less water.

the best beer in egypt. The only beer brewed in egypt. Poor quality control. wide disparity in flavor from batch to batch.
