1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Bottle, thanks to Elena. It pours pale lagery yellow with a medium white head. The nose is sulphurous, grainy, light butter and corn. The taste is paper, grainy, watery, dough, cabbage and faint lemon. Light-medium body and moderate carbonation. not much to it, but what there is I don’t like...

1.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20
50cl bottle shared by Leighton at CBC Clerkenwell. It pours a clean golden color with a small white head. Aroma is fart, anus, poop in a grain field. Taste is skunked grains and cabbage. You can feel the mummy coming out of the glass. A cool egyptian tick that comes at a price.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
1) Part bottle decanted by waiter, first night in Egypt. Bright gold with a loose bathfoam collar. Pleasant grass and rabbit tray aroma, at first. Then metal and honey. Aggressive popcorn, metallic, hay-like cardboard taste..disjointed bitterness. 42427.
2) Can. Slick of head. Revolting glue, almond and root vegetable aroma. Nothing but envelope adhesive and corn on the..ahem, ’palate’. Tipper. Piss poor.
3) Chilled bottles upturned theatrically by waiter into Luxor weizens in Naama Bay. Crisp and refreshing with candy, spun sugar and weak grassy notes. Enjoyable. 535310.

Big white head. Clear pale yellow body. Light sugary aroma with vague candy notes. Dry mealy sugary perfumy taste. Mid-to-light body. Mealy mouthfeel. Dry mealy vaguely fruity aftertaste. Well. Not bad, but not really enjoyable, either. (0.5l can, gift from the in-laws.)

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle from my sister’s holiday in Charm and Shake. Thanks Lorn! Smells like treacled miller, with a force fed ferret on the side. I can conjure the scent of swimming pool - chlorine etc. Taste is soft, sweet malt. Almost sickly, but water saves the day (like Whitney Houston). I doubt it.

Bottle kindly shared by larsga. Tall, shiny white head. Pale yellow colored body. White sugar and fruit candy to the nose. Watered down and light. Lemonade flavored. Not really malty, a certain sourness only. Traces of bittering hops deep down below. Short sappy lemon finish. Not far from awful.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
I thought it was ok on a hot day in Egypt. It is another typical lager from a macrobrewery. Decent body and head of foam. The taste was fine but nothing special. If you’re in Egypt this is one of the most widely available beers, it gets the job done but is nothing to write home about.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
50cl bottle in Hurghada, Egypt. Pours clear, pale golden with a minimal, white head. Lightly malty aroma with hints of cooked vegetables and hops. A bit sweet and not so much flavour. Pretty standard industrial pale lager, drinkable, especially on a sunny day in Egypt. Slightly higher alcohol content than Sakara Gold, but I would prefer the latter one. (Backlog - tasted 2009-12-11)
