Black colour with a small bubbly beige head that leaves some lacing. Licorice and coffee aroma. Medium pluss body. A mild round sweetness and light bitter. Long mild sweet chocolate aftertaste. Slightly sweet chocolate, licorice and toffee flavour with a vinous edge. Soft carbonation.

Shared bottle at Cardinal. Pours dark as Coke with a small creamy head. Aroma of roasted coffee,liquorice and anisette. Taste is moderate sweet malty, smooth mouthfeel, liquorice and coffee, heavy roasted, smooth all over.

Fra flaske på Cardinal: flott skum og masser av lakris og en del kaffe i både aroma og smak. Et godt øl som jeg må prøve igjen.Må også prøve flere fra dette bryggeriet.

500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Batch #183. ABV is 6.8%. Black colour, large tan head, but not the best retention. Aroma of roasted malts, liquorice and mild coffee, hints of chocolate, treacle and some wood. A bit too much carbonation in the mouth. The flavour is medium sweet and roasty, notes of coffee, liquorice and dark chocolate, hints of caramel and dark dried fruits too. Quite good.

(Bottle). Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Tastes roasted malt and chocolate and has a slightly bitter tone in the finish.

Roasted with sweet coffee and a little smoke.
Quite complex for such an easy drinking stout. Medium carbonation and body. Likeable.

Notes of coffe, lachrids relly nice bubells makes the stout soft in my mouth.

En riktigt god engelsk stout. Svart som natten, len och väldigt lättdrucken. Smak av kaffe och engelsk sötlaktris. Väl balanserad och nyanserad.
