Bottle @ Københavnske Øldage 2007 in Copenhagen. Hazy brown black color with a huge creamy excellent lacing fully lasting brown head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, burnt, dark chocolate, licorice. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duraton, and a good balance. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Easy to drink.

Draft. A pitch black beer with a collapsing brown head. The aroma is of roasted malt and brown sugar. The flavor is dominated by roasted malt, leading to a dry bitter finish.

CBF07 sample from tap. Pours black with a good and very brown and dense head. Aroma of hardroasted malt and a citric note. Flavour is malty, liqourice and refreshing citric. Good dry finish. No smoke notes, deliberate and indicated by the brewer.

(On tap) Completely black and opaque with a light brown head. Burned malt aroma. Quite full-bodied with a solid malt base, somewhat burned and coffeeish. Perhaps the finish is fairly tired with some malt bitterness. But decent. 110507

Bottled. Very dark colour, small brown head. Aroma is roasted malts and sweet hoppyness. Flavour is roasted malts along with some hops and dark fruits. Quite watery.

Roasted aroma with notes of liquorice and smoke.
Roasted flavour of liquorice with notes of chocolate.

UPDATED: JUN 26, 2007 Draught at Københavnske Øldage. Really black with dark brown head. Tarry licorice aroma. Dryish and well rounded. Solid roasty chocolaty malt, some grassy hops. Lingering salty finish. Good, more English style beer than most of the new danes.

Draught. Pours a black color with a longlasting tan head. Roasted malty aroma with some hints of chocolate. Roasted malty dry flavor with lots of chocolate and coffee. Roasted malty finish.

50 cl bottle: Dark brown to black with handsome brown creamy head. Aroma is liquirice & roasted coffee. Very smooth, soft & creamy mouthfeel. Flat cabonation - on that note very british. Heavy bitter roast. Very nice!
