Bottle, slow gusher. Nearly black, seems clear. Small, light beige head. Aroma has malt, licorice and a yeasty, dried fruity spicyness. Smooth, soft mouthfeel. Flavour is roasted with licorice, boozy notes and well balanced sweetness and bitterness. Warming alcohol comes through later on. Nice one.

Benzai (9772) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - SEP 17, 2014
Bottle @ weekly tasting shared by Joes. Opaque dark brown to black color, medium sized beige to light brown head. Aroma is malts, liquorice, lightly a touch of herbs or spices. Taste malts, liquorice, lightly alcohol, sweetish. Medium body, smooth carbonation. Nice but I think the sweetish liquorice flavors will after a while start to annoy.

Maria (10187) - Thisted, DENMARK - DEC 31, 2013
It’s pitch black with a light brown creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt. chocolate, oat biscuits, a touch of cocoa, dark fruits and licorice. The flavor is so soft - just like an oatmeal stout should be, and the flavor has notes of licorice, chocolate, oats, dark fruits and the finish is soft with an ever so slightly touch of smoke.

Bottle. Dark brown/black beer with a small tanned head. Dark fruits, chocolate, licorice, coffee and some tar aroma. Similar flavour. A nice stout :-)

Tjoxen (173) - SWEDEN - FEB 22, 2013
Pours dark dark brown with creamy tanned head. Aroma of roasted malt, spices, licorice and some vanilla. Taste of tar, smoke, spices, some licorice. There is many sensations when going from a bit chilled to room temperature. It feels a bit watery which lower the palate score. Though it would have been perfect during christmas time. I like the aroma very much, but the taste was a bit to weak.
