4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 tutal (10) - Hokah, Minnesota, USA - JAN 21, 2005
This one was a suprise for me. Granted, I’m a fan of most beer, so this as most others I really like gets a high score.
Aroma: Slight apples and spice, possibly a hint of apricot.
Appearance: Golden, slightly darker than a Hard Cider
Flavor & Palate: At first it starts off with a sweet and spicy flavor. There are hints of apple, nutmeg and a good balanced malt. It finishes off with a dry, spicy, hoppy flavor leaving you in want for another gulp. There is a slight aftertaste of the hops but nothing overbearing.
Overall this is a great beer. Make sure not to have this one too cold. I found about midway through the glass the flavor was at its peak.

Rich dark orange. Floral lemony hefeweizen aroma. In the mouth, add Twizzlers, apricots, Spree candy, colver honey, and a touch of anise. Weighty mouthfeel reaches the back of the tongue and jups into the tummy (and then the brain, hopefully). Peasantly surprised.

Very pleasing beer. The aroma is ever so lightly malty and clean. Nice head, which diminishes fairly quickly. Light-medium body. Not cloying like some high octane beers are.
Pretty light amberish color. Would definately buy again. In fact, will probably lay a few in, in case its only a winter brew. They have it at Babuska Russian Deli, in Walnut Creek, Calif. Think I paid about $2.50

Pours a clouded gold with a very small off white head. Nose is of old orange peels, some alcohol, and a lot of dough. Flavor is outspoken and full. Orange citrus, a pretty noticable alcohol (though not nastily so), and a pervasive sweetness are all there. Feel is thin. Not a lot of carbonation going on here. Definitely drinkable. I had no-to-low expectations of this bottle and was pleasantly surprised. Worth trying. Possibly worth trying again. Might even be interesting to see this paired with food in some way (something other than German).

Now this is strange stuff - it tastes like a combination of Maibock (sweet and almost cloying at times), Wheat (spicy, peppery - almost has some rye flavor), and Malt Liqour - I can tell it's strong from the warming alcohol at the back. Body is deep gold, topped with a sudsy short lasting head, very little lacing. Aroma is sweet and malty, but not very strong.

I was pleasantly surprised by this beer. Aromas are typical of a witbier - bananas and spices. In fact this tastes a little like a wit. All it needs is a little cloudiness. This is the best ’Malt Liquor’ I have had. Not bad!

Bright gold coloring with a thin, but consistent head. Aroma is sweet tree bark with some carrots and nutmeg. The mouthfeel is lively with carbonation. The taste has brown sugar, celery and even some light roasted caramel. This is a lager that almost resembles a dunkel. Very nicely done.

Copper-hued with a white pillowtop. sweet grapey/malty aroma. Wow ... strong sugar/alcohol flavors ... vegetables, apricot ... definitely for the strong-livered. Nice.

Stuff of high quality, very Belgian-like (It has some interesting accents which remind me Hoegaarden Grand Cru and Swedish dubbel Kloster. Warming, with hints of wheat and, probably, honey.

Golden coloured. Nice fruity aroma. Sweet, malty and fruity flavour. Well balanced and well hidden alcohol. Surprisingly nice.
