Bottle. Malty aroma. Nice brown colour. Sherry/wine-like undertones reminding me of old/vintage beer.

Pours deep red brown and clear. Thin white lacing head. Milk chocolate and berries in the nose. Yeasty, earth and traces of herbs. Tea. Strawberry and light fruit. Some cherry tartness. Some pink pepper. It was good but what is it?

Porter, not really. Not the porter that I know .Maybe it is Belgian Porter (!) .Rich , sweet , juicy ale, plenty of sugars , fruit and yeast .Medium bodied ale , some bitterness , touch of alcohol . Friendly finish, alcohol keeps low key to the end .Thanks Doug!

(Bottle) Pours an amber-brown color with a thick, frothy (like a root beer float), long-lasting, beige head. Sweet malt and caramel aroma. Flavors of toffee and cola. Bitter palate.

Red-ish brown colour. Rich head. Sweet-ish liquorice aroma. Fruity, slightly roasty flavour. Interesting Belgian ale/Porter-hybrid.

Ruby amber with a beige head. Yeasty. Coffee nose. Sweet and fruity. Medium body, slightly astringent, creamy. Flavor was slighty sweet, nutty. Not at all impressive. Doesn’t rank with other porters I’ve had. Disappointing. Nice bottle, though.

Ya know for a porter this isnt that bad. I dont like porters and to me this wasnt everything that a porter is. First off, cool bottle, just for that it gets some points with me on this one. The colour is clear brown not too dark with a thin tan head that is long lasting. The nose is some malts and soy to it, just a hint of toffie to it. The taste is clean, thin and bland with malts and some soy. Interesting but not very good.

Bottle, DBF 2004. Deep chestnut, moderate white head and gentle condition. Low malt, roast barley and yeast aromas, sweet caramel and more roastiness in the mouth which also lingers into the finish.
