clear brown, tan head. nutty caramel and malt aroma more to style of a scottish ale than a porter. flavour holds more caramel and nuts with cocoa and fruity plum notes. nice.

Pours a dark reddish-brown, with a light tan head, that fades into a small rim of foam. the flavor is nice and malty, reminds me more of a brown ale, than a porter. Lots of toffee and caramel, but slightly watered down.

Hazy light-medium brown with hints of red. Quickly fading head. As noted by others, this isn't really a porter. It is a Belgian brown ale. Slightly sweet malt flavors. Like many Belgian ales, a noticable yeast flavor. Overall OK.

Old style Belgium Brown. Not much head, what little ther is is brownish. Beautiful light brown, re-stoppable flip top porcelain bottle. Nose is mild and sweet, somewhat candylike. Taste is not too complex, with some malt sweetness dominating, and a sweet, candy like aftertaste. Good alcohol warmth finishes this brew.

This isn't even remotely a porter, so just judge on its own merits. Medium brown with some reddish highlights, thin head. Aroma focuses on toffee, sweet malts. A faint flavor of Belgian yeast, but flavors really center around caramel and toffee notes, maybe a faint, faint hint of molasses. A surprising alcohol warmth at the end. Enjoyable, but nothing special.

Excellent fluffy head. Dark ruby colour. Flavour is malty with a bit of roasty bitterness, and a splash of caramel mixed in. Thanks for sharing Doug!

Caramel and toffee aromas, pours a clear ruby, with a medium sized toffee head, and some pretty lace. Tastes of caramel, toffee and roasted chicory. Quite well balanced, medium bodied, nicely bitter. Well done!
