Deep Mohogany beer. Small, creamy, khaki head. Excellent retention and weeping lacework.
Alcohol, copper, nickel, prune and dark chocolate in the aroma.
Strong coffee and cocoa flavors. Astringent, but well-balanced.
Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Short, dry finish. Way overpriced, but I'm a beer geek. I had to try it.

Mild caramel, nutty, and earthy notes with a medium brown color. A very cool presentation with the crock.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
I found this a major disappointment! Very unique bottle for a watery, thin, lifeless beer. Might be the lightest porter, and surely the clearest one out there. Green leafy, cabbage, and peat aroma. Some hops there. End is almost sour and strange. I hated it.

Well, you won't have to worry about this one becoming light struck - what a cool stone looking crock! I enjoyed this both very cold and warmed to a more proper temp. Either way, it was so etremely smooth, mild yet full flavored - malty caramel and interesting spices in the dry finish.

Pale brown color. Hop nose. Slightly sweet taste. Had a dominant flavor of stewed cabbage.

I dont know how old this beer is but it definitly isn't like any other porter. Nice fruity aroma and a great flowerly like taste. No bitterness and no taste of alcohol.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Definitely not what I'd expect in a porter. Tasted more like an English brown ale to me. Smooth and light. A hint of toffee. Judging by how mild this tastes, I never would've suspected this was more than 4.5% ABV. The ceramic swing-top is awesome though.

Not your typical porter as I have experienced them to be.This was to my liking as I like a very smooth brew that goes down easy with no bitterness or sharp aftertaste.Good lacing.Great stonebottle.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JUN 4, 2003 This brew poured a small head of light brown fine to medium bubbles which left a nice lacing as it receded. It has a cloudy brown body with fine particulate. It has a smooth malty flavor but is a little weak for a porter. Very smooth though and I found myself liking the flavor and the taste, just hard to call it a porter.

Aroma, what aroma? Great drinking porter, although not what one mught expect. A 'light porter,' this beer is more like an ESB as far as I am concerned...none of that choclate/coffee tast you get in American porter.
