Bart (1625), Vosselaar, Belgium Mar 24, 2007 Had this one at "den Leeren Emmer, Beerse". Poors nice, dark brownish coloured with an average off-white head. Nose of roasted malts, yeasts, dark fruits. Full body. Finish is malty, little alcoholic, roasted. Pretty good. Palidor19 (1750), Brandon, Florida, USA Mar 13, 2007 The Belgian looks and pour nice, there is a a lot of sediment at first pour and it sticks through out the entire session. The palate feel very thin though. The taste has a slight tangy sensation depicts a wine like characteristic. The malts of caramel and passion fruit complement nicely. Though not over strong, the alcohol is noticeable. nick76 (2636), Tampa, Florida, USA Mar 13, 2007 The aroma has chocolate malt, caramel, fruit and cola. The appearance is red brown with lots of floating particles and a two finger head. The flavor is nice and toasted. There is also caramel, dark fruit, and coffee. The palate is almost watery. This is not a typical porter or Belgian ale but I was not expecting either one. This is pretty good. It is just too thin with a bit too much sediment. AvantAle (50), Florida, USA Feb 23, 2007 Bottlle. This beer smells like RC Cola. I actually stopped rating it half way through. I didn’t want to drink it, let alone concentrate on it’s lack of flavor. ObsceneOne (32), Tampa, Florida, USA Feb 19, 2007 POOR is word all around for this beer.
Flat and Plain from poor to sip to poor down the sink. AHHH never again TheRimmer (483), Florida, USA Feb 18, 2007 Copper aroma with hints of yeast, possibly baker’s chocolate. Mainly it smelled of spare change. Nice red color. Fizzy head. Light, weak body. Watery. More metallic and kind of yeasty tastes that finish the same. 11 bucks for a 750ml. Hello middle finger. doublebock (196), USA Jan 26, 2007 Rich amber hue, lively carbonation, bready scent. Candy like taste, maltiness but can barely taste the alcohol detroiter (958), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA Jan 14, 2007 Clear brown beer with half an inch of tan foam. Decent head retention and okay lacing. Mild malty and fruity aroma. A taste of caramel malt and fruity yeast. Body just shy of medium, lightly carbonated. Decent beer but a bit on the weak side. Nothing (except the stoneware bottle) to get excited about.
