Smooth and light. A hint of toffee. Judging by how mild this tastes, I never would've suspected this was more than 4.5% ABV. The ceramic swing-top is awesome though. gunhaver (1044), Tampa, Florida, USA

Instead it’s a fairly drinkable belgian ale that’s decent, but not worth the price tag for it and the fancy bottle. pnista (1008), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 14, 2009 Thanks for sharing Jerel! An oddity of a beer by a long shot. Clearly not much in common with a porter. Clear lighter ruddy brown with a bit of an off white head. The nose is, well, Belgian. Light, with some fruity esters, spice, perhaps some brown sugar. Not a ton of dark malt character, but some. Thinner texture, lower carbonation, but not inappropriate. The flavor is in line with the nose, though perhaps more interesting. A bit of chocolate pops out. A bit of dark fruit, but decidedly herbal. Light and clean. A surprise for me. FoolishMortal (966), San Diego, California, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | May 9, 2006 75cL bottle. Murky brown with tinges of orange. Practically no head. Rich currant, alefruit, old caramel, and alcohol in the aroma. Completely flat, watered down toffee, anise, and yeasty spicy ester flavors with a heavy alcohol presence. Some raisins and more alcohol in the finish. Mouthfeel is very thin. Ringo (959), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 22, 2002 It’s not great, but pretty good. Thin for a ’porter.’ Not worth the price unless you want the bottle to make some Martha Stewart-like craft project. Number 300 for me, no significance though. detroiter (958), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 14, 2007 Clear brown beer with half an inch of tan foam. Decent head retention and okay lacing. Mild malty and fruity aroma. A taste of caramel malt and fruity yeast. Body just shy of medium, lightly carbonated. Decent beer but a bit on the weak side. Nothing (except the stoneware bottle) to get excited about. TaxiDriver (948), Stadland, Germany
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 29, 2007 Bottle. Moderate malty, medium sour (yeasty). Large brown creamy head, dark rubin-red colour. Startet sweet, gets even sweeter in the middle and endet rather bitter, medium duration. Medium body, dry and oily texture, lively carbonation.
A really nice beer! Rockinout (946), Kent, Ohio, USA
