wingman333 (160), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jun 26, 2007 Dark red color with creamy bubbly head. I was expecting something porter-like based upon the name but what I got instead was one of the most refined and flavorful dubbel-style brews I’ve had. There were flavors of grape, dark fruits, and a delicate sweetness that was not overpowering. There was heavy carbonation, something I prefer. Plus the ceramic bottle was pretty cool, too.

Taste: tickling carbonation dark malts and brown sugars spicy bit fruity some bitterness in sour aftertaste. Delicious one FatPhil (2363), Espoo, Finland Oct 5, 2008 750ml bottle (Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam)
Very deep red, large self-supporting beige head, some sinky bits. Plenty of CO2 in the aroma due to the high carbonation. Aroma like a
belgian bruin. Quite refreshing palate, lively carbonation. Not a big taste at all, again like a belgian bruin, but slightly watered down, and not at all sticky. Pleasant rubbery burnt corner to the taste. Fairly spicy too, cloves, a touch fruity, and some sticky raw hops,
Has a slightly tingly hoppy finish. Very refreshing, I prefer this
to many bruins despite the fact that the flavour profile is very
similar. No hint of 6.5%, drink this by the pint. nearbeer (1326), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Oct 3, 2008 750 ml, bb 21/06/12. Translucent mahogany with a lasting half-inch of cream that completely ices the glass. Aromas of unsweetened molasses, wheat, clove, cocoa and light toffee. Flavors are the same, plus some light citrus and cardboard bitterness. Medium body is smooth, dry on the finish and slightly watery. Tastes like a dunkelweizen with a Belgian yeast. Pours hazy amber with a collapsing off-white head. Spiced and roasted malty aroma. Spiced and vague roasted malt base flavour with a light bitterness coming through. Quite spiced and yet smooth caramelish into the finish.
