Bottle. Amber colour with a large and creamy off-white head, good lasting and nice lacework. Aroma has notes of floral hops, caramel, earth and toasted malts. Flavor is bittery, floral and fruity notes, nuts and resins are very nice compensated. The final has a decent bitterness, moderate dry.

Draught @ BirraSo 2013, Barcelona. Pours a dsrk amber copper colour with a white foamy head. Aroma of grains, wet earth, nuts and grass. Flavour of caramel, wort, grains, English hops and dry hay. Light bodied, slick mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Finishes sweet, grassy and dry. Not your best bitter.

Cask @ La Cerveteca. Pours a clear amber beer with a huge bubbly white head on top. Aroma has thin touches of malts and not very much else. Flavour is overall quite bitter and has some piney notes to it. Bitterness kinda overwhelms the palate, but what’s in a name?

On tap at La Bona Pinta in Barcelona. Pours a hazed burnt orange colored body with an inch thick, dense and creamy, beige head that dissipates slowly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is bready, somewhat sticky and sweet caramels with some DMS, a slight toast, and a light grassy note. Flavor is similar. Papery, bready, somewhat sweet caramel malts with a light toast and a good amount of grass throughout. No DMS on the flavor, but more of an oxidized taste. Finishes dry and fairly bitter before leaving a lengthy aftertaste. Medium body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, this was an ESB with some nice things going on, but the aroma had too much DMS and the flavor was slightly oxidized. Nonetheless, it wasn’t terrible, but perhaps some better packaging options are available.
