Copenhagen Beer Festival 2011. Black lasting beige head. Chocolate and licorice aroma. Chocolate and cocoa flavor, hoppy and salty, with some sweet fruits.

Bottled. Quite much pitch black colour, small beigeish brown head. Aroma is caramel malts, some roasted malts, liquorice, mild hoppyness. Flavour is chocolate, liquorice, dark dry fruits, some toffee and mild roasted malts as well. Balanced and rather pleasant.

Bottle. Pours a black beer with a beige head. The aroma is roasted, sweetness, licorice and ash. The flavor is following the nose with some additional coffee. The palate is sweetness. Overall a good beer.

(bottle, courtesy of Papsoe) Black coloured hue with a huge and persistent brown foamy head. Roast-malty aroma with dark berries, liquorice, shy piney hops and a whiff of smoke in the background. Moderately sweet flavour with a burnt and slightly hoppy bitterness, medium to full bodied with a moderate carbonation. Roasty malty taste with liquorice, caramel, subtle fruity notes and shades of smoke; moderately dry, bitter sweet finish with a lasting roasty aftertaste and light notes of lemony hops. Complex and very pleasant Stout. 31.XII.07

Bottle@Øl&Mat 09, Oslo. Low tan head. Near black, mahogny-shaded body. Dryish malt aroma. Yeasty. Some licorice and cocoa. Taste is licorice with a salty touch. Also bitter chocolate and coffee. Lots of malt-sweetness and roastedness in the backbone. Not very filling though. Bittersweet ending.
