[cask at the Blue Blazer, Edinburgh] Coppery brown beer with a small white head, which reduces pretty quickly to a lacing. The aroma is earthy malt, nutty, and slightly bready. Darker, bread-crust-like flavours at first, before the softer, fruitier edges of the malt come out. Decent session beer [18012013]

Cask by handpump at Halfway House, Edinburgh (2 Feb 12) - lightly hopped, clear amber ale with small off white head, carbonation quite high, fruity taste, very smooth

Possibly a bad pint, possibly too early in its run. Not too cold and not any distinctive head (even for Stewarts) with a pungent throat kicking nose. This is quickly eased by a thick amber bitter wedge and salty, but flat linger. Improved a little through the pint but not enough to recommend for more than the tick.
