A reddy coloured beer with a whitish head and lace. Fruity berry notes. Pretty sweet plum notes. Definite malt lead rather than hop lead. decent enough but would like the sweetness toned down.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 AshtonMcCobb (1447) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - AUG 21, 2012
On tap @ the Haymarket. Pours dark amber with a nice head. The nose has toffee and cream with a little bit of raisin in there. The taste is a little bit cardboardy and the malt on the finish is astringent. The palate is medium bodied with a medium thick textjure and a slightly astringent finish, unfortunately. Overall, this is the worst beer I’ve had from this brewery, so I must assume something has not been carried out correctly by the pub, so will need to re-rate.

Cask Aitken Fount @ Diggers, Edinburgh 260712
Caramel brown, clear, creamy head, good lacing
Aroma - dark caramel malts, quite rich sweet dark malts, light hops
Taste - caramel malts, malty, some fruit dark malt, touch of bready malt, hint of spicy hop, nice easy drinking beer, bit of toasted malts, this soft understated beer really works for me
Palate - soft carb, medium body. Finish as main flavour
Overall - This is the best 80/- i’ve had...way better than Caledonians.

Decent scottish heavy, though there is very little that is "heavy" about this beer. Light amber appearance with a watery mouthfeel. Mild and a little skunky with a bit of fruit at the end.

On cask at Leslie’s Bar. Pours a dark ruby colour with a thick beige head. Malty aroma and flavours of caramel and milk chocolate. Nice and dry with a dry caramel linger. Quite malty overall. Mild carbonation. OK.
