Appearance: pours clear dark brown with ok off-white head with some acing. aroma/taste: grain/bread, caramel, chocolate, citrus and hints of floral notes. palette: low to medium carbonation, medium body, some caramel sweetness, average to distinct bitterness, medium duration and an oily texture. Very dark pour, with an aroma of dark malts and hops. Flavour of hops, with some hints of dark malts and caramel, with some citrus added. Finish was not as bitter as I expected, turned out to be a satisfying beer altogether.

Nice dark brown/black pour with good hop and malt aromatics. Had a nice fresh pine burst followed by some citrus notes and a mildly bitter malt backing.

500ml bottle pours black in color with a finger and a half of light brown head that leaves some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is light roasted grains and citrus. Taste is a light roasted grain and citrus hop bitterness with a chocolate malty sweetness. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. A nicely balanced and flavorful black IPA that needs to be sampled.

500ml bottle, dark brown pour with a small off white head. Roasted malt, chocolate, citrus hop. Nice and balanced, very drinkable Black IPA, but at 5%, only a mild one. medium sweetness, medium bitterness, medium body, oily feel, soft carbonation.

Bottle. Mad hatter. Dark brown, little tan head. Big resin nose, lightly fruity. Hoppy (but not as much as I remember from other times I've had this) with bitter smooth chocolate. One of the best Stewart's.

Pours dark brown, not really transparent, not really hazy. Finger-thick foam subdues fast. Aroma has some malt bread base that has covered itself with a hop blanket. Taste reveals quite thin body that still has some smoked malt thickness and aroma hops spike. Quite nice for only 5% and nothing wrong with it - but maybe a bit too basic for my taste.

Bottle from Red Elephant Beer Cellar in Truro. Nice dark colour, hold it up to light and it’s ruby, tan head which starts thick before receding and leaving a more soapy like head throughout. On the smell I picked up berry fruits, a bit of melon, tropical citrus, caramel and toasted malts. Taste starts a bit sweet before the dry bitterness of the hops makes itself present although not that strong. Nicely balanced and a pleasure to drink, perhaps a little thin in the mouth but nothing to complain about!
