Black beer with a thin beige head and a light spicy aroma. A balanced fruity edge and a dry, toasty finish. Itís not really special but itís very drinkable.

Aroma: hoppy, caramel malts. Appearance: dark brown, small brown head. Taste: light bitter. Palate: some smoked flavours coming up, long finish. Overall: nice Black IPA, big fan of the palate. Pint at Craft Beer Rising festival, London.

Bottle shared with McTapps. Quite a classy one. Hops mixed up with some berries and bit of coffee in the back. Well balanced and deep in body. Really fine one.

Bottled 25/01/14. A black beer with a white head and lace. Nice hops throughout. Quite orangey. A bit of smoke and a touch of caramel especially in the nose. Not as hoppy as most BIPAs but still pretty nice.

Bottle from BenH - many, many thanks! The black IPA pours out in a deep black colour with low steady head and medium to smooth body. Nice aroma of hops and dark berries. Taste of fresh hops, dark bread, light malt, dark grains, flowers, grass and citrus. Light gints of chocolate. Delkicious and smooth to drink, I enjoyed it a lot.

Bottle on Boxing Day. Black with a red hue. Lively head on pour which retreats to a thin off-white lining. Small amount of lacing. Nose is piney with some malt. Taste is dirty resin with some sweetness. Ends with a long sustained medium bitterness. Decent but plenty of better UK examples of this style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Opaque dark brown beer. Small pale tan head. Palate is clean and crisp. Smooth dark malt, no roast or bitterness. Whisper of coffee. Light tangy dark fruits. Mild piney hops with a little light citrus. Finishes smooth. Really nicely joined up. All flavours in good balance. Good stuff.

500ml bottle from the brewery. Pours dark brown, slightly see-through, with a quickly dissipating tan head. Aromas of pine, lemon, light roasted notes and a hint of chocolate. Taste is dominated by the hops, as it should be. Medium bodied, thin texture, good bitter finish. Nice black IPA.

500ml Bottle - Black in colour. Liquorice, toffee, pine and soapy hops in the aroma. Liquorice, fudge, coffee, roasted malt and soapy hops feature in the moreish taste.

Bottle at home in London - sourced from Oddbins London Bridge. Pours somewhat clear, deep brown with red highlights and a thick, lasting tan froth cap; seriously, the head has maintained its integrity for minutes. So, looks pretty much perfect. The nose gives off notes of toasted and dried pine, burnt bread, dirt, tangy and leathery berries. Light to medium sweet flavor with lots of earthy bitterness, pine, some tangy citrus and leathery berries. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Further tangy fruit and dark malts to finish, more burnt pine, earth, dark bread. Pretty average aside from the appearance.
