Cask at Craft Beer Co, Covent Garden on 20th December 2014. Brown with thin off-white film and spot lacing. Herby aroma with sweet malts. Sweet caramel and barleysugar in-mouth with cheesy kick (stilton) and nuttiness (peanut). Touch of apple late. Fruity sweet finish with savoury, pungent mushroom notes. Medium body and fair amount of texture. Unusual.

Nose is dark malt, coffee beans, cocoa, light spice, biscuit. Taste comprises toasted brown sugar, dark toffee, light coffee grinds and charr, dark fruit notes. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close with light bitterings. Decent coffee number.

Scopey (8789) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 17, 2014
Cask at Craft Holborn. It pours clear deep red-brown with a small beige head. The nose is sweet caramel, date, dried fruits, toasty brown sugar, wood and light coffee. The taste is bitter-sweet, wood, toast, caramel, earth, coffee and leather with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Not a game-changer, just a rather well balanced and drinkable bitter. Nice stuff. Cheers Mr Bolvig.
