Jonte (365), Gothenburg, Sweden Mar 2, 2008 Updated: Mar 8, 2008Cask at The Standing Order (Wetherspoon), Edinburgh. Brown/red color with a small not lasting off-white head. Aroma: Citrus, some cascade hops, yeast, caramel and berries. Flavor: Berries, some citrus, but where did the cascade hops go?) caramel and some sourish notes. A bit too weak and watery. cgarvieuk (2302), Edinburgh, Scotland May 1, 2007 a Copper coloured ale, with a light maly nose, and a hoppy bitter flavour in finish chris_o (4405), London, Greater London, England Apr 22, 2007 Cask (gravity dispense) at Reading Beer Festival, April 2006. Dark copper colour. Slightly hazy. If they are aiming at a US style beer they will need to put some more Cascades in. Although there is a fair amount of hop presence here, the Cascades are scarcely discernible. There’s some caramel/treacle malt in the aroma. Smooth and pretty tasty but not really as described.
Thomas_E (4814), Copenhagen, Denmark Oct 13, 2006 Cask. Light hazy deep copper colour with a small dense off white head. Caramel sweet aroma with a hoppy fruity note. Hoppy, citric flavor with some pine notes along a light malty sweetness. Gr0ve (1088), Oslo, Norway Oct 12, 2006 1/2 pint cask, Guildford, Edinburgh. Bright brown colour. Crystal clear. Medium-sized light brown head. Rich caramelly malty and hoppy aroma. Mellow, but crisp malty flavours. Classic English hops. No detectable Cascade hops. Hehe, didn’t really expect them, but there is a nice hoppy bite to the beer. Clean hops. Give a nice clean crisp, but hoppy, finish. The darker malts do not return the favour. The beer could just have been pale.
