on cask at bon accord, glasgow. reddish brown, not much of a head. sweet, musty aroma, brown sugar, no bitterness whatsoever, watery

Pours dark brownish orange with a tiny off-white head. Sugary mildly almondy and toasty ale with macadamia nuts nuances. Growing bready sweetness, not very balanced. Absent hops. Interesting puh-erh tea earthiness, but as watery as tea as well. Dull.

A Sim rate (cask at The State - Glasgow): Slight berry/plum aroma, but definitely not enough. Apple and sweet caramel in the flavour but with a bitter finish. Very watery. Strange that the overall score works out unequal to the sum of its parts. I suppose that’s because although the elements don’t all stand alone well, they make quite a good beer.

On graught at the Cloisters, Edinburgh: Ruby amber coloured, small, but firm creamy tanned head, sweetish nutty, a bit fruity and roastmalty; astonishingly full bodied for a beer of 4.3 % ABV, solid sweet-bitter flavour, smooth; dries out towards the bitter-sweet finish, lingering roast-malty aftertaste. A very fine Ale........

UPDATED: APR 22, 2011 Dark brown, with a sweet malt aroma, and a balanced yet complex full rounded malt with a little smooth smokey roast malt ... nice toffe caramel malt linger... Normally this is a good to great beer but When this is in top condition its a Stunning beer. I love it, and the fact i can get 5l minicaks just makes it better

well since there Ginger beer doesnt count as a beer, but id like to keep a record of it ... light hazy yellow white ... big ginger ... soft lemon grass nose ... light fizz (seems natural rather than force carbonated) ... light sweetness ... hint of lemon .. loads of gingers ... clean fresh lovely despit the low carbonation, it does seem to make me quite gassy... but all told i really like this. 3.8

Cask@The Cask and Barrel, Edinburgh. Reddish brown with a yellowish head. Fruity malts aroma. Strong toffee and fruity hops flavours, bitter. Lightish body. Drinkable.

Cask at GBBF 2006. A dark red-brown beer with no head. The aroma is sweet malty with light notes of caramel and nuts. The flavor is sweet and rather spicy combined with some rather weird nut notes.

Cask@Twickenham BF. Deep brown/copper. Sweet toffee notes and also some raisiny fruit. Mouthfeel is a bit syruppy and definitely on the malty side of things. Sweet, yet it ha s a slightly dry finish. Flat mouthfeel.

1/2 pint cask, Bow Bar, Edinburgh. Dark amber colour with some ruby brown hues. Diminishing off-white small head. Slightly burnt caramel and grassy hops in the nose. Quite soft and mellow flavourwise and the darkness is not reflected in the flavour, so no roastedness to speak of. Really low hop bitterness and hops can only be found far into the back.

A crackin’ beer, packed with delicious malty flavours and a clean fruity bitterness. looks the part too, dark with a long lasting head. Standing Order Edinburgh.
