COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottled; Regular. Occasionally available in cask.
Based on our IPA malt grist but bolstered by the wonderful American Amarillo Hop our Hollyrood is a world class pale ale.
Pale in colour with a full fresh citrus aroma, Hollyrood has a light body, moderate bitterness and tangy grapefruit flavours. It goes well with light flavoured foods such as tiger prawns in garlic butter, char-grilled chicken, pan fried sea bass, or burger & chips.
Hops: Magnum and Amarillo Malt: Maris Otter and Wheat

Pours golden wig tiny white head. Fruity lemon aroma. Big hop taste with decent caramel backbone. Struggling to decide if I like this. Feel Luke there’s a slight vegetal sweaty note.....

500ml brown bottle. Gold pour with light haze. White head which thins to a ring. Nose has a bit of toasted malt, nice citrusy-grapefruity hop notes. Taste has pretty clean malts up front with grapefruit notes. Some lingering grapefruity hops in the finish. Dry, light bodied, mild carbonation. A good easy drinking beer, nice hop notes, and refreshing.

500ml bottle pours a slightly hazy golden amber color with a finger and a half of white head that retains well and leaves some very nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is light fruits with some hints of caramel. Taste is a fresh citrus bitterness with an underlying fruity and malty sweetness. Flavors are very well balanced and carbonation tickles the palate nicely. A very well done pale ale that I highly recommend.

Cask at Jake’s Place. It pours clear amber with medium white head. The nose is bready, grainy and lightly citric. The taste is lemon, lime, straw, sweet pale malt, dough and light bitterness with a crisp, dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A bit sweet really. So-so.

Flaska. Mycket fruktig och blommig arom. De exotiska frukterna (med citron, apelsin, grape och melon) ger en behaglig smak, tillsammans med en liten örtighet. Kanske något ensidig beska för ett högre betyg. Skönt oljig munkänsla.

Bottle mail ordered from Yamaichi. Fruity, citrus nose, lemon and orange, light pilsner like malts, a bit of bread. deep gold with a huge head. Simple flavor, bready malts, light minerals, dry lemon, some zest, a tiny touch of honey. A bit yeasty as well. Light and clean, tasty, nicely bitter finish. Good enough but not all that exciting.

Medium yellow cloudy body with some froathy head. Dry controlled grapefruit rind with some lemon but it could do with some more meat on the bones. A pretty good palate cleaner. Will do my best to think of this beer everytime I head the word ’Hollyrood’ as opposed to that 1960sesque Brutalism twig carbuncle ust next to Arthur’s Seat.

Mmmmmmm .... liking this one. Worlds Best Beer winner for a pale ale. This is very fruity and full of citrus, with some hints of grapefruit in the aftertaste. Sharp bitterness which rounds off the medium to full bodied flavours.

33cL bottle. Great hoppy aroma, dark yellow hazy appearance, beautiful. Crispy taste but balanced as well, these guys know what they’re doing! You can taste both malt & hops. Well done, gents!
