Based on our IPA malt grist but bolstered by the wonderful American Amarillo Hop our Hollyrood is a world class pale ale.
Pale in colour with a full fresh citrus aroma, Hollyrood has a light body, moderate bitterness and tangy grapefruit flavours. It goes well with light flavoured foods such as tiger prawns in garlic butter, char-grilled chicken, pan fried sea bass, or burger & chips.

Flaska. Ljust bärnstensfärgad, klar. Hyggligt med humle i doften, välbalanserad men tunn smak, bra bitter eftersmak. Medelmåttigt pale ale.

Small white head. Hazy yellow body with light carbonation. Fruity resiny aroma with grape notes. Dryish strawy fruity taste with mealy resiny notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dry fruity resiny aftertaste with mealy notes. A generic pale ale, rather slack. (0.5l bottle, from Sainsbury’s, Edinburgh.)

Bottle BBE: Apr 16. Well-chilled. Pours a hazy gold-amber body with small, tight white head and floaters. Fresh, crisp, medium-light intensity, malty aromas of potato chips and a little ripe cheese. A moderate sweetness is cut by a medium bitterness. On the palate, the body is light-medium and the texture is a little coarse. Carbonation is average and the finish is short and bitter. Not much in the way of grapefruit and citrus, this drinks a bit more like a premium lager. Not a bad one, mind you.

Bottle. Lightly hzy golden ale with a thin white head. Nose is lemony and light. In the mouth, there’s a malty biscuit followed by light lemons and the finish is bitter and long lasting. Leaves a nice lemon biscuit crunch in the finish.

Bottle from Aldi. (£1.25) Had this ages ago and It was pretty good. This seems to be a very different animal altogether, somehow tasting like a bog-standard supermarket French lager. Not good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
