Cask in edinburgh, guildford arms.
yeloowy gold with small head.
chemically sweet aroma. No bosy or bite. some nice fruity flavours but drowned out by the sweetness.
not very hoppy for an IPA, no sure how 4.1% can be called IPA either!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Fest. Gold beer with white head. Some of these Scottish beers survived the cold conditions quite well, this was hoppy, light malty and dry with a crisp finish.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
I fondly remember the original Drybrugh Pentland 70/- and was hoping this would be a good copy of that, sadly I was to be disappointed! This has a sickly sweet malt flavour which spoils the overall balance of the beer, some bitter fruit was noticable but overall, not a nice brew...didn’t finish it. JDW Galashiels

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bright bottled, from cask (gravity dispense), Reading Beer Festival, April 2006. Rich gold colour. No head. Very dry, very citric. Quite sharp. Maybe a bit one-dimensional but very refreshing. Some underlying dry malt on the palate. Not sure I’d call this an APA. No off notes in the aroma for me, but I did buy it a bit later in the day than the others. And it spent a couple of days in a plastic bottle.

2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Gravity Cask @ Reading Beer Festival 2006. Odd socky plastic nose - not nice, although there are some more usual hop and malt aromas in there.. Refreshing body with sticky bitterness.
