Bottle. Straw yellow and hazy with a generous white head. Great notes of caramel and that familiar grassy Saaz flavour. Lightly bitter finish. Well put together. A fine Bohemian Pilsner.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled, 330ml from Abbey Fine Wines, Melrose, Scottish Borders. Lemon gold with white head. Clean crisp lagery notes undisputedly with a lemon hop, sharp and well defined. It stops there, so pretty authentic really. Not bad.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: AUG 19, 2011 Re-rating on the relaunch of this beer.Interestingly in comparison to the German Pilsen we tried along with it, it had much more fruit, probably grapefruit on the nose and then a big lemon note on the taste. The palate and overall experience still holds good too!
Original rating on 12/03/11 6/2/7/4/13 = 3.2. Pours golden with gentle bubbles. Not much head. The nose has a lovely oaty clean-ness. The palate has more oatiness with a crisp citrus finish. The palate is more textured than most lagers and the finish is bitter as it should be for a pilsen. An authentic re-production I would say!

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Lots of aroma hops here - but it does not have the crispness I hoped for, it’s more peaches going mouldy.
