On tap @ McCowans. Pours amber with a decent head. The nose has toffee and a nice crunchy biscuit note. The taste has more of the same with the toffee biscuits quite nicely intermingled. The palate is light to medium bodied with a crunchy texture and a dry refreshing finish. Overall, a well made bitter.

On tap at jolly judge a golden clear bitter with light hop and grassy aroma flavour is light citrus with lemon giving way to a mildly bitter finish light fresh session beer

On cask at the fountain, edinburgh. Pours clear copper with a thin slightly off white head, aroma is malty bread, bit fruity. Taste is similar, with some grassy notes. Note to bad

Weatherspoons at Edinburgh airport. Typical airport beer served too cold. Golden copper bitter, tight head. No aroma to speak of (temp related?). Light taste, fresh hoppiness, a hint of sweetness and biscuity malt. What the GBG would call a session beer. Decent enough stuff.

Cask conditioned handpump Market Porter London. A brown beer with a white head and lace. Reasonable bready malts and fruity hops in this. A bit toasty. Berry flavours eminate from the hops. Pretty nice.

Cask by handpump at Cloisters, Edinburgh (20 Feb 12) - clear pale copper ale with creamy off-white head, nice fruity aroma, sweet fruity taste with nutty notes, smooth fruity aftertaste, very nice

On cask at Cloisters. Pours a golden colour with a fair white head. Aroma of pine, caramel and alcohol. Similar flavours with mild carbonation, an oily mouth-feel and a dry finish. OK.

Cask at Teviot. Hint of diacetyl, sulphur... but also slight grassy hop, pineapple at a push, toffee. Similar flavours. Grassy bitterness. Watery. Not great, bad condition inoffensive.

Cask @ The State Bar. Balanced sweet hoppy malt aroma. Amber colour with thin head. Mild fruity flavour. Quite smooth but a bit watery. Reasonable bitter.

[cask at the Guildford Arms, Edinburgh] Has a bit of everything, this one. Pours like an amber ale but the first thing on the nose is citrus hop. Malt follows, and this leads the taste before the hops come in on the finish. Tastes very similar to several of their other beers – like Copper Cascade mixed with Pentland IPA. A decent bitter, and drinkable stuff – even for rugby-haters like me… [24022010]
