2013 IBD homebrew competition winner.
Yoga Chef is a coffee-infused oatmeal stout with the addition of Artisan Roast’s finest cold extract coffee during the post-fermentation stage. The brew is a rich yet easy-drinking stout with a distinguished coffee character that brings sweetness, rather than bitterness.

Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. This black beer has ruby red highlights and a strong floral fruity coffee flavour. It has chocolate and coffee with a red fruit and roasted finish. Excellent!

bottle from oddbins. very strong coffee aroma. the cold press is strong in this one. flavour is nice but rather one dimensional, mainly coffee with hints of chocolate and berry. mouthfeel a bit thin. finish is quite bitter. not really a stout...

Bottle from vino. Obvious coffee aroma. Tastes almost exactly like one of those iced coffees in a can. Very thin. Too much coffee not enough beer.

Bottle from Tomlinson’s care of Colin "5K" Bois. It pours near black with a small light tan head. The nose is earthy, good deal of coffee, roasty and light spice. The taste is roasted malt, coffee, toast, mild acidity, cocoa and light bitterness with a dry, roasty finish. Light-medium body and fine carbonation. Lacking in a bit of body to be honest, but tastes pretty nice.

Bottle shared on the train from Inverness to Plockton, from Tomlinsons, 19/10/13. Mid black with a light tan head that collapses to a swirl. Nose carries a big coffee blast, light spice, chipotle, BBQ notes, dark toffee fudge. Taste comprises roasted espresso, light chocolate, earthy roast malt tones, dark toffee, cocoa nibs, brown sugar, pinch of spice. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry roasty finale. Nice stuff, good coffee tones and a little spice to boot. Happy to revisit this number!
