COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Dark & Smokey Weiss - A classic German-style Kirschholzgeräucherterdunkelweizen. Just kidding! As far as we know, there’s no such thing as a classic Kirschholzgeräucherterdunkelweizen. Ric found some incredible cherrywood-smoked malt and used it for a German-style dark wheat ale. It’s one of the neatest beers we’ve’ ever made.

On tap, Smoke ’em if ya Gots ’em Fest 2010. Pours a slightly cloudy dark amber body with a small fizzy off-white head. Really great nose, lots of smoke, some great Dunkleweizen notes of over-ripe bananas, earthy wheat, and a touch of alcohol. The flavor is just moderately smoky with great banana bread, yeast, and earthy wheat notes. Lighter chocolate and roast accents. Mouthfeel is full, thick, and creamy with a great chewy texture and soft fizzy carbonation. One of the best surprises of the fest for me.

Out of tap. The smokey had a very nice med to heavy texture. Flavor had a smoked, nuty, and coffee traits. all and all a really good beer....Kirschholzgeräucherterdunkelweizen!

Had on tap at Stewarts. I couldn’t drink it. It tasted like a bacon flavored band-aid. It was really bad. But, I give Stewarts props...I took it back to the bar and told them I couldn’t drink it and they gave me another beer for free. So, that’s that.

Big thanks to Gabe for sending this one my way. Very solid smoked beer. Pours a brownish amber with lots of lacing. Aroma is an interesting mix of deep smoke and straw, with a hint of spice. Flavor is light and breezy, lots of wheat and smoke; touches of carmel, banana, burnt biscuits, and meaty juice. Lots going on here. I enjoyed this one a lot, thanks Gabe!

Draft at Stewarts. Slightly hazy burnt orange with a decent head. Aroma like a camp-fire with wheat and a lot of deep-roasted smoky maltst. Dry, smoky finish.

This beer wreaks of spent firewood. Would be great in a different arena, but its a bit repulsive in a beer. Taste starts out good, but you eventually get to an aftertaste that reminds of cotton or fabric.

UPDATED: DEC 1, 2009 Draft at stewarts. Poured into a pint glass small head. Muddy brownish color. Good aroma of smoke and some wheat. Taste is light smokiness, sausage with a light wheat in the after taste. The cherry wood actually adds a nice flavor. Medium texture. Overall a pretty unique smoked beer..
