Draft. Bright clear yellow, thin white head, scant lacing. Aroma of white pepper, straw. Taste is bitter hay. Very plain, not much maltiness.

Clear golden/amber body with off-white head. Aroma is moderately sweet, candi sugar, orange, bubblegum. Taste is moderately sweet, candi sugar, orange, some alcohol and astringency. Moderately full body with low carbonation. Perhaps we had a bad batch, as Kathy was less than enamored with this as well.

(Draught) Pours a clear yellow body with a medium off-white head. Aroma of fresh baked bread, maple syrup, caramel, coriander, and banana. Flavor of raisins, candi sugar, caramel, and some clove.

Tap. Pours clear gold with a small, fizzy white head, short retention with light/spare lacing. Aroma is Belgian yeast esters, candi sugar, straw malt and no hops. Flavor is sweet malt, pear esters, candi sugar, no hops or bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body, warmth, and carbonation.

Had this a while back. Hazy gold pour with aroma of fruit, hops, candi sugar. Tastes authentically Belgian, with big fruit, spice, finishing hops, and candi sugar.

UPDATED: APR 10, 2006 Poured a golden color with a small, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of vanilla, coriander, citrus fruits, yeast, light banana, and faint pepper. Taste of yeast, candy sugar, black pepper, spices, and some tart citrus in the background.

On tap, at brewpub. Pours a cloudy yellow gold body with a one finger frothy white head. The nose is very spicy, both from the yeast and actual spices it seems. A little alcohol and bready malt. The flavor is just as spicy, with a lot of yeastiness and thick bready malt. Clove, banana, and candi sugar are all pretty prominent. A bit of an alcohol kick on the back end. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a bit of a stickiness on the finish. Moderate soft fizzy carbonation. Overall, OK, but not a big fan of this one.

Aroma: Big fruit nose, pretty complex, spice, sugar, banana, citrus, apple
Appearance: Clear orange-gold color
Flavor: Sweet and malty, nice fruity malts and spice, balanced and complex
Palate: Nice mouthfeel, mild alcohol burn, medium body
Overall Impression: I found this to be a really nice example of this style. Well made with quite a bit of interesting fruity complexity to it. This was a sure winner for me, really tasty. I wasn’t surprised at all when the bartender mentioned its popularity amongst the regulars, a very nice brew!

BCTWC 09. Pours a hazy deep golden and a thin white head. Aroma of cardamon and phenolicy yeasty belgian spice- some fruity banana esters as well and hints of apple juice. More clove and cardamon flavor, doughy yeastiness and good fresh bready malts for the backbone- and a thinning sweet palate - candi sugar and more earthy dry spiciness in the end.

Tap at BCTC 08, right next to our campsite. Thanks to the Stewarts crew for letting us have at their beer. Pours a lightly hazy golden with a medium creamy white head that left lacing. Aroma of tripel fermenation yeast esters, spicy/peppery, citrus, floral and bready. Flavor of the same. A well done tripel from an American based brewery.
