COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The addition of wheat malt softens the chocolate and roasted flavors of this classic American-style porter.

Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours nearly black with a medium creamy brown head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of chocolate, caramel and roasted malts. The taste is bitter roasted malts, chocolate, mild hoppy notes and a lactic finish. Medium bodied.

On tap at brewpub. Dark pour, aroma of cocoa and burnt wood. The predominant flavor in this one was dark chocolate with a lot of roasted notes and a faint smokiness. I never would have guessed it was wheat based...you couldn’t really tell.

Draught at BrewPub: Aroma of roasted malt and slight chocolate. Poured very deep amber/mahogany/slight ruby in color with a small, tan head that lasted around the edges only. Clear. Slightly sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of roasted malt, slight smoke, light chocolate, and slight caramel. Medium body. Slick, then slightly dry, slightly chalky texture. Average carbonation. Roasted malt and light chocolate finish is a tad dry.

Draught at stewarts. Nice beer... Not what I was expecting when I saw wheat porter.... Poured into a pint glass. Black in color, small head. Decent aroma of coffee. Taste, more like a coffee porter. Coffee and oats, strong malt. Well balanced. Nice creamy smooth texture. Carbonation level was right on the spot. Overall a solid beer that I would go back just to get.
