3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at Bailey’s Taproom in Portland, OR. Pours a clear, deep red. Webby, tan lacing, nitro almost. Nose is spiced latte coffee, rye bread, pumpernickel. Taste is dirt, soil, earth, heavy ashy bitterness. Papery, dry finish.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Bailey’s, pours a deep dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of potent coffee, not much else discernible. Flavour brings out light coffee notes - really not much else. Thin body without much complexity. Solid, but uninspired.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Bailey’s Taproom. Pours a deep brown color with a medium beige head. A big burst of coffee and peppers in the nose (from the coffee, I always get green pepper with heavy roasted coffee beer). The flavor basically follows a big coffee beer with vanilla, sweet lactose and coffee, light metal. Very nice.
