3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Idiosynkrasie (1853) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - JUL 5, 2012
500ml bottle [5.2% abv as per label]. Cloudy golden colour with average firm frothy minimally lacing white head. Slightly fruity wheaty aroma as decent notes of banana and sweet bread. Soft palate, low carbonated; wheat malt taste takes long to come up with decent apple and peach fruit notes, a spicy note and a touch of bitter hop in the finish. A late bloomer.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 KyotoLefty (4736) - Kyoto, JAPAN - MAR 20, 2010
Draught at the Stiefel-Jurgens Brewpub in Beckum. Simple, nice hefeweizen. Typical sweetish flavor of banana and clove. Drinkable but not so special.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 jonas (5047) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - SEP 29, 2006
Bottle, thanks MoritzF. Cloudy yellow, low head. Banana, Earthy strawberry - seems to be a house flavor (or house infection). Bitter herbal and minerally notes sit heavy on top of more subdued banana and clove notes - bready finish. Dry mouthfeel. Clayish in the aftertaste.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 pivnizub (8000) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - SEP 26, 2006
Bottle (many thanks to MoritzF): Orangey coloured, quite firm creamy head; strong fruity nose (apples, peaches, bananas and wheat) sweetish flavour, light to medium bodied; grainy-wheaty finish, slightly sweet, even some hops are detectable. A pleasant Weizen !
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 MoritzF (7756) - Bochum, GERMANY - JUN 7, 2006
(draught at the brewpub) Hazy and cloudy yellow colour with a beautiful stable foamy white head. Slightly sweet wheat-malty aroma with the typical Stiefel-Jürgens yeast (banana, pear), no clovy phenols detectable. Light-sweet flavour, light to medium body, moderate carbonation for a Hefeweizen. Wheat-malty and fruity taste, again with banana and pear; wheaty, yeasty and slightly bitter finish. Pretty drinkable Westphalian Hefeweizen, but all in all not too spectacular (04.06.06).
