Bottle. Poured pale yellow with medium white head. Little lacing. Aroma of malt and grass. Malty flavour with a hoppy edge. Finish started well, but ended with an unfortunate gummy tang. Still, worth drinking if you come across it.

11.2 oz bottle 10/1/09 (Binny’s Naperville)-Pours a clear yellowish golden with a small white head. Aroma of malt and skunk. Taste of the same with some sweetness and slight hops coming through. This light bodied brew is not bad.

Classic international lager - crisp and clean, yellow and fizzy. A pretty immemorial beer, but having said that there isn’t much wrong with it. Just nothing too exciting.

330 ml bottle. From Fusch an der Großglocknerstraße. As Stiegl Bier. Clear deep golden colour with smooth white head. Strong hoppy aroma. Flavour is sweetish malty, only hints of hops. Quite unique label (different than pictured).

~Pours a light gold with small creamy white head. ~Sour wheat and wet hay scent with light hops. ~Sour hay, malts and spicy saaz hops in flavor. ~Light crisp feel, sour bitter finish. ~Above average "pale lager" Not very good Premium lager.

I agree with other raters on the 500ml can - I love the retro look. Poured into tall larger glass purchased in Salzburg, emblazoned with an Austrian crest which must have brought out the best in this beer. Golden straw-colored with a white crown. No funk in the aroma is always a good start..... instead I get sweet grass/corn and faint subacid fruits. Flavor is sweet corn/straw malt, crab-apple, light astringency, with a crisp lightly bitter finish on account of the Saaz hops. This is a very refreshing lager fitting of the Alps.

Another pale colored lager beer? Don’t mind if I do. Pours a perfectly clear golden color with a massive fluffy white head that has plenty of retention and a good bit of lace. Aroma is malty, grainy and overly sweet with some salty notes, seems kind of messy nothing really blends well. The flavor is better, I was expecting something very bad from the aroma, the beer is well balanced but a little to the sweet side, the hops are there but they are fairly muted. The maltiness is very bready and delicious if not terribly complex. All together this beer is pretty thin and a bit watery, enjoyable enough but at the price I wouldn’t seek it out again.

Tall Can (500mL) @ Metro. Almost didn’t order as a result of the can. Pleasantly surprised. Clear yellow pour with a lingering white foam. Aroma is corn, grains, malts. Taste is a little dry, grains and vegetables, but quite smooth on the finish. Overall very pleasant.
