Delicious, full-bodied Salzburg beer specialty.

Stiegl Goldbräu boasts an unrivalled, well rounded, balanced and wonderfully thirst-quenching flavour. Mildly hopped with a typical refreshing beer bouquet, golden colour, a magnificent fine head and pleasant aftertaste, Stiegl Goldbräu is the enjoyment of beer at the highest level. 12°

Draught at the red bulls game. Some grass and other stuff. For a stadium beer I suppose i liked it.

"Retro" can, Salzburger Stiegl Bier (says Goldbräu in small letters over teh ingredients), 4.9%. I’ve intentionally missed this one on several trips knowing I could get it easily later on, but in the end got it from some friends (thanks Karolina and Ana!)
Poured a pale golden body with a small white head that went away fast. The nose is some soft maltiness, honeyish, fighting with low veggie-like hints. Odd taste, the maltiness persists, turning more fruity than honeyish, but the bitterness that surrounds it feels out of place... the hop profile could definitely be improved. Weak herbal hoppy aftertaste. Kinda flat mouthfeel which makes the plain bitterness even more annoying and doesn’t allow the maltiness which is quite fine for a macro lager to shine.

From tap at Stiegl Klosterhof Linz. Pours clear and golden yellow with a huge white head. Aroma is grassy and mild citrusy. Malty and rather dry bitter flavoured. Mild citric and dry bitter finish. Ends bone dry and clean.

UPDATED: OCT 29, 2015 Cannette 500 ml. 4.9%. Couleur jaune dorée. Arôme de céréale et houblon frais. Assez mince en bouche, on goûte la céréale, le houblon et une très légère amertume en finale. Un peu sucrée. Bonne bière qui descend très bien.

Bottle @ Austria. Pours clear golden with a off white head. Very grainy nose and flavor with a bit of hay. Some sweet notes. A scent of butter. Watery palate

UPDATED: JUL 28, 2013 Bottled. A golden coloured lager with no head. The aroma is typical chemiaclly lagerish with a hint of butter. A touch sweet in the mouth but there are some noble hops. Pretty refreshing actually as served very cold. Score 2.4

Sampled in a 16.9oz bottle. Pours light yellow with a head that quickly dissipates. Overall a really crisp brew. Nice drink. Good malts.

UPDATED: JUN 6, 2010 Bottle with dinner at the Dutch. Served in proper glassware! WOO-HOO! Moderate amber/gold...hard to tell in the dim lighting. I’m not complaining about the lighting mind you. Nose of cut hay. Malts dominate by a wee bit and are well balanced with the mellow hops. Some apple tone. A utilitarian brew that complimented my obligatory pulled pork sang-wich.
