Not much for aroma. Has a beautiful golden color. With thin white head. Kinda dunked bitter malt taste. Meh.

Tutto sommato non è malaccio, anzi se penso che ma l’hanno servita quasi a temperatura ambiente, poteva essere meglio.

On draft, clean and malty lager with little hop aroma but light bitterness. Not too complex but really drinkable and moreish.

500 ml can as “Stiegl Bier” bought at CitySuper in New Town Plaza, Shatin.

Clear golden honey colour; Two and a quarter finger head with crumpety white foam which lasts for 2 minutes; Excellent sticky lacing and active, slow carbonation; Light and quite fragrant aroma of malt, with floral, strong honey, bread, yeast, light lemon, and very light grassy hops; Mid to light sweet taste of malt, with very light wet paper, floral, molasses, light bread, light yeast, lemon, light bitter hops and grass; Mid to light body. Slick palate; Mouth feel is good maltyness in a pretty thick and smooth background. Good floral, light nice molasses, light breadyness good lemony light hops to round. Pretty neat… Hoppiness is floral, strong honey, light lemon and very light grass in nose, and stronger in taste. Bitterness is light for an abrupt, light astringent sweet malty finish; Fairly dry after taste. Easy and fairly hoppy to mouth.

Comments: Got a first glimpse of Goldbräu via the Radler Zitrone, and as a full beer it stands up quite well. Although not as wholesome as most Premium Lagers, it’s still full malty, with nice and tidy floral citrusy hops and subtle sweetness. The honey nose provides a teasing hint of Helles. Nothing offensive, easy and drinkable.
