Eine naturbelassene Salzburger Bierspezialität, gebraut mit österreichischen Rohstoffen aus kontrolliert biologischem Anbau. Feinwürzig im Geschmack, samtig mild am Gaumen mit leicht fruchtig-aromatischem Charakter. Das Zwickl ist ungefiltert und natürlich trüb.

On tap at the Map Room, Chicago. Cloudy golden amber, robust clingy head. Hearty, fruit-kissed cereal aroma. Bready, husky grainy flavour, really tasty and malty. Hints of beguiling fruit, I’m guessing from the yeast. Tasty.

UPDATED: OCT 27, 2010 Draught at Map Room. Hazy gold with a mountain of white head. This is a serious looking beer. The aroma is lightly yeasty and hoppy with a creamy, sweet malt component. The hops are apparent but minty and herbaceous in a mellow way The flavor is lighter in bitterness but still well balanced and creamy. Even though the bartender said this keg was nearing its one month drink by date (try finding that in another European beer over here) I still though it had a very nice fresh yeasty quality.

A great example of a Zwickl. Pours golden with thick haze. Taste is fruity with a pronounced malty sweetness.

UPDATED: OCT 11, 2010 On tap at the Map Room in Chicago. Wow I loved this beer. Unfiltered and unpasturized, making for a bright hazy yellow poor. Yeasty aroma, flavor is bready, light hops and citrus, yeast, some malts, with a lovely refreshing finish of corn and some grass. Something about it made me want to chew it, despite not really being a thick and chewy beer. Refreshing, delicious, and easy to drink--what’s not to love?

Bottle at Stiegl Ambulanz. Hazy golden coloured with a huge white ehad. Malty aroma of fruits, hay and yeast. Malty flavour of hay and yeast with notes of liquorice. Hoppy finish.

Bottle: Thanx to Mr.Rask: Hazy yellow colour, white a creamy white head. Aroma of Fruits,citrus,malty and some citric/bitter ending. Flavor is a nice mix of fruits,citric sweet maltynes and a fruity bitter creamy mouth feeling. Medium bodyand a long fruity finish. One of the best Zwickl I had tryd. Nice done!

On tap at Cammerlander in Innsbruck. Pours hazy golden with fluffy rich white head leaving rich lacing. Citric, hoppy, dry hay and yeasty aroma. Acidy fresh citric and dry flavor. Crisp citric on palate. Finishes dry and bitter.

UPDATED: JUL 14, 2010 Tap at maproom. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a big soapy white head. A beautiful beer. Aroma of fresh cut grass, hay, cooked vegtables, and wheat. Flavor is doughy lemon, fruity earth., brigjht carbonation. Well crafted. Flavors flow and mold together nicely. Liked this quite a bit. Liked it so much, in fact, that I ignored them at the bar for 23 minutes because I couldn’t wait to post this. And they’re the reason I came here! The irony makes my weiner hard -- or is it this awesome ass beer?!

Huge pour at the Map Room. Great, unfiltered pour, Doughy aroma, with a pure yeast essence, fresh bread. Lovely. Thick body, full, raw grains, pale malts. A sheer pleasure to drink. The world needs more like these. You could drink this for lunch.
