3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at brewery. Cloudy orange colour with a white head. Aromas are VERY faint. I pick up some malt, honey, hops. The taste is mildly sweet, with a nice malty taste. Pretty inoffensive, but decent nonetheless.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from a 1 litre bottle at home. Should’ve rated it fresh but didn’t get a chance, so it’s not in the best condition. Still good though. Aroma is mildly floral, very light hops. Taste is corn (but not in a bad way), malt and very light hops. Pretty well-balanced. Finish is sticky and malty. Not a bad beer at all, one of the best lager-style beers I’ve had.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
The beer pours a dark honey with light gold highlights. There is three fingers of sea ocean foaminess. Good lacing. Very pretty overall.
The aroma is medium giving off light floral hops, a hint of corn, and a very light skunky finish. Not enough to distract but its there.
The taste is actually really nice and balanced. It starts off with lemony citrus, some corn, and floral fresh hop finish.
There is actually some good feel here, nice and gritty sticking to your tongue but a dead finish.
Easy drinker here.
As far as lagers go, this is easily one of the best ones out there. Not my style of choice, but if I wanted a balanced, good tasting, session lager I’d go for this.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
(bottle) pours a hazy golden colour with a frothy white head. aroma of hay and yeast, with hints of pale malts, honey and pepper, seems a bit off. flavour is very grainy, in a smooth and chewy sort of way, with notes of straw and a light herbal-hoppy finish. light to medium-bodied with average carbonation.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: MAY 7, 2011 On tap at the Draft House, Tower Bridge on 4 December 2010. For some reason, this place seems to carry quite a few Austrian beers and this is the one I’ve enjoyed most so far. A hazy, unfiltered beer. Gold in colour. Quite fresh, with some grassy hop character. The malts are pleasantly biscuity and don’t stray too far towards the doughy. Pretty tasty stuff.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Keg at the Draft House, London. Pours hazy, light gold with a foamy head. Light bread and white sugar on the nose. Decent flavor, pretty sweet, some esters and dough, mild citrus. Light in body with lively carbonation. Mild dirty earth to finish, dome bread and bits of corn. Decent.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap (White Horse, Parson’s Green)
6 soft, but complex, grainy aroma.
4- Mid orange, cloudy, large brief tight head.
6 grainy retronasals and a full light grainy taste, touch wheaty, touch husky too.
3 Thin palate, crisp carbonation. Finish continues the grains, heading towards an almost bocky plasticity and almondiness.
12 Crisp and refreshing, yet not lacking in flavour either. My first zwickl in keg, and it’s as good as many of the bottled one I’ve had. Very tasty proper lager.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sample from tap. Again from the Glunz Beer Expo last April. Unlike most beers being sampled here, they had a tap for this one. Nice cloudy yellow, with a foam layer on top. Slightly malt and sweet German malt smell, little hop in the nose. Goes down lightly malty, just a little Vienna malt flavor to it. Sweet on the tongue, catching a tiny note of yeast in the background, but it’s not in the way at all. This beers settles in very nicely.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the Malt House - Pours hazy, cloudy dark yellow with a small light-bubbled head. Bready and yeasty on the nose, with some honey, floral hops, and a real firm maltiness that keeps it all together. Fairly sweet, bready malt taste, with a nice floral hop finish. Real yeasty, and perhaps a bit too much sweetness, but this is fantastically refreshing. Light and tingly carbonation adds to the effect. So pumped that I got to have this on tap!
