Can, 4.9% as Stiegl Bier. Clear golden colour. Big semi-stable white head. Dusty, chalky aroma. The flavour also has a little chalk. Faintly vinous finish.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 NJJereme (365) - Saint Petersburg, Florida, USA - JUN 20, 2009
16.9 oz. bottle. Pours a golden-straw color with a fluffy white head. Malty and slightly metallic. Has a little more character than a standard U.S.-style macro lager or pils but overall not very remarkable. Light bodied. Goes down pretty easily.
2.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 Rustyham (1303) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JUN 20, 2009
Big fluffy head, sweet, light, crisp, like a caramel and marshmallow candy. Very light, you could down a couple of these and not even realize it. Like Buttah. $8 per bottle at Abraxas, Miami Beach
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Vertical Bacon Strips (1616) - Asshat, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 7, 2009
Bright gold with a tiny white chunky head that died too quickly, zero lacing, barely a ring left over. Tiny spotty lacing that showed up half way through review. Aroma was dry with sweet malts - lots of malts, light hops. If this doesn’t taste like a beer from India - dry, kinda sour, yucky yeasty, metallic...ugh. Mouthfeel is dry with some terrible tasting weak bitterness. Crap beer.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 bookman10 (301) - Osseo, Minnesota, USA - MAY 25, 2009
Sure, this may not be the most complex beer ever created, but it’s one of my favorites. Goes great with German food. Pours a nice light yellow, with thin head. Has a grainy, wheaty, straw taste to it that isn’t unpleasant. I’ve had worse.

Bottle at WOB. Pours a light yellow with little to no head. Aromas of dirty feet with similar flavor. Austria’s Bud basically.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Maddog (348) - Kettering, Ohio, USA - MAY 12, 2009
I want to like pilseners, I really do. They have the potential to be clean, crisp even finishing with a fair amount of hops. If you get them fresh, which is difficult coming across the pond, they can be quite refreshing and tasty. I’ve even on rare occasions had decent pilseners from American micro-breweries. This beer when poured into my favorite .5 L glass looks Budweiser yellow with almost no aroma at all. The flavor is rather bland with a faint trace of that classic German Pils flavor that I love, but there just isn’t enough of it. A rather unremarkable beer, that I can cross off my list of "try it once" beers.
